You can also disable Vsync through your graphics card's control panel. That's how I did it before.
I compared performance with this method versus forcing it off through the control panel, and it's the same for me.
The performance gain is because, as in any game, if your system is not maintaining above 60 frames (or whatever your monitor's refresh rate is set to), your frames will be cut in half. Triple buffering fixes this, allowing you to have Vysnc on while not getting the performance penalty when your frames drop below 60.
But beware, having your frames uncapped in this game will introduce the y-axis sensitivity problem. It arises when fps is low (<30) and really high (>100). You'll find that the y-axis sensitivity goes through the roof, even with a gamepad plugged in!
You can cap your fps using Dxtory. Once downloaded, go to the tab with the chip icon, and enable "Limit Video FPS" and set it to whatever you want to cap your frames to. You must have this program running in the background (minimize it) for it to work while in game. Also, EVGA Precision's overlay monitoring interferes with it; disable it.
Another note: vertical sync, even with triple buffering, introduces horrible mouse lag. If you want it on to eliminate screen tearing while not getting mouse lag, you're going to have to also cap your framerate while you have it on. Just set the frame rate capper to 1 or 2 fps below your monitor's refresh rate (most likely 60).
This advice goes for any game.
