How long do you think TES will go on for?

Post » Tue Aug 25, 2009 4:03 am

looking at this reasionaly, there is too many variables. it depends on how sucessful the TES games to come are. i predict, tho, that it will stop when they run out of reigons/providences...

I'd like to think that Bethesda will keep it alive for the small cult following that's been loyal to it for years.

Butthey're a corporation and all they really care about is money in the end. ^^;

It was something 2036 when all the provinces are visited once. Then the techology probably allows creating the entire provinces. Another 30 years. Then make a game with all Tamriel. After that I'm undecided whether the game should show the other lands or leave them mysterious.

2100 atleast, if I'm lucky I die around that and get to play the last game :coolvaultboy: :sadvaultboy:

I figure that it will die a hard and ugly death once Bethesda sells the franchise off to some outfit which produces "TES VIII: The Adventures of Barney the Purple Guar" for the "next generation" of gamers.

The lore is endless. It's an imaginary world where - everything - can be fleshed out enough to form a story or lore for a game.

So: Endless.

I think it will end on about Elder Scrolls: 7 or 8. I have a feeling there just gonna make Elder scrolls V, then throw in a online game and that will be the end of it. But I think this is how it should be. The elder scrolls 1: Arena The elder scrolls 2:Daggerfall The elder scrolls 3: morrowind The elder scrolls IV oblivion The elder scrolls V return to vradenfall(or morrowind) and then The elder scrolls Online. I think Returning to morrowind would be a sick idea, with graphics that are even better then fallout 3's and gameplay better then morrowinds. Also I think the story should be something like, 50 yrs later, your hero comes back to morrowind, and sees that a new enemy has arrived from the deep treacherous caves of hell and wishes to rule the world.

No! I want to explore Skyrim and Valenwood and High Rock and Argonia and .. without having to deal with hundreds of Legolas's and Aragorns and Vivecs

Seeing as it is Bethesda's trademark series....until they go bankrupt....which shouldnt happen anytime soon.

Even then another company might buy it later and continue it, so the series will never stay dead as long as it remains famous.

I predict that Bethesda will release two more Elder Scrolls and two more Fallout games within the next ten years, before they call it a day and run away with our money.

Incoming ramble:

Well, take a look at history, and more specifically the history of adventure games which died due to new technology / not beeing innovative enough /changing market trends. As long as Beth is able to innovate their games to the future and there's a market for it, I see no issue.

You may want to save the environment though, lest the word turn into mass chaos where there's no room for games.

Since people want guns and multiplayer in TES series now, I think it has already ended.

Guns are insane for TES and multiplayer is even more insane but i doubt people wanting them is the death of the seris.

A minority of people wants them anyway, so it'll probably never happens.

And for how long I thing Tes will go on.. Well, at least until we played on all of Tamriel and maybe Akavir, I hope it'll won't be the end anytime soon though.

Let's not get into a discussion about it though. It got another thread locked.

TES series will probably last as long as Bethesda exists, but I can't say how long Bethesda will exist for.

Alright. Lets hope the game company never dies so our favorite franchise does not fall either.

It will probably continue for long long time.

adventures games was mentioned, and besides scummVm have made them back to life somewhat the genre are gone.
I liked the citybuilding stuff from impression games a lot,but was let down by the latest installment, rather play their old titles.

So that lead to TES-series,oblivion was/is cool but it doesn?t comes close to morrowind, played the other a bit and they feels better than oblivion in the long run, honestly I played oblivion a lot, with some mods it is fixable ;)
So I certainly hope next installment take some good stuff from earlier titles and weed out the bad,I will regardless put my 100?s or thousand hours into it as always, but hope they keep releasing the cs,even for those on steam, the cs aren?t necessary used to make huge mods but also gives an everyday player a possibility to fix the little things as desired,build/add to a house, clothes, you name it.

fallout on the other hand, what I seen of it,it is a cool sequel to older titles, played one of the old titles and have bought the third, want to have a lot of spare time to play it,one of this days I gonna, but sees fallout as a different thing than TES.
