How many caps do you have right now?

Post » Mon Jan 18, 2016 7:42 am

Around 5,000 on my current character. I make lots of chems and grenades but I also use them (and I buy fertilizer), and I pretty much tend to buy a lot of unique weapons and armors even if I don't use them, just because.

I also don't abuse of the industrial purifier thing.

I do hoard a lot of junk so I guess if I went out and sold everything I had in the workshop that number would go pretty high.

I also keep all the pre-war money and gold bars in a safe, also just because. That boosts my total I guess.

Lv62 44k

Am I correct in thinking you can no longer store your caps in a container like in previous games? You have to have them in your inventory all the time?

Level 93, above 100K. This is with scrapping 90% of the weapons and no water selling. Mostly from selling grenades, Jet, cooked stuff and legendary items.

Almost 30k. Though I rarely buy or sell anything. My armory and workbench at the Castle will be featured on an upcoming episode of Hoarders.

Just looked and it's 530,000.

I don't bother anymore with the water farming and picking up loot apart from ammo and a few valuable bits for trading because it's too time consuming.

But with all the settlements established they generate caps that gets put in the workshop for collection.

Unlike the beginning of the game when i was always short of things, now my character is a wealthy scrap merchant and Overlord.

Don't really use .308 for anything. Combat rifle is a .45, sniper a .50, handguns are 10mm and .44, shotgun uses shells and my pipe rifle is a .38.

I wish you could sell suits of power armor...they're just wall art for me and I have about 7 suits.

Level 32ish, around 12000. I scrap pretty much all the weapons I find and don't bother to sell much. I just trade ammo I don't use for fusion cores.

Level 82, almost always around 6000 caps (fusion cores and missiles and shotgun shells are quite expensive).

Level 95. 105K caps.

If you find the game's focus on a scrounger economy where you're always low on everything tedious, water-farming and jet-dealing breaks the whole cycle, but it's immersion-breaking, too. It breaks it all the way.

About 13.000 at lvl 50. Need it to buy ammo and I like a reserve. Don't have paid for settlement vendors yet.

My current play through my SS is now at level 102. He has never had more than 52k and usually hovers around 10k.

My first play through had my richest SS at around 800k. That play through ended when the SS got to level 54.

A simple rule of thumb: At level 10 or below, you do not have enough caps. At level 30, you have enough for pretty much anything you want. At level 50, you need less caps than you needed at level 10.

Level 337 and I have roughly 120,000 caps. Almost every settlement has stores and when I make my rounds every two weeks I pull in roughly 7,000 caps.

Around 20K and it's steady. I usually spend about 10K each day I play for shipments but it stays around 20K regardless.

Of 2 playthroughs both times got around 40k. Just stopped bothering going any higher, there's no need. I usually trade with ammo I don't use, stimpaks which I don't use because cooking food, and chems that I find and make. They weigh next to nothing and it's not long before I've got lots. Better than picking up and trading weapons and armour pound for pound.
