How many skill increases to level-up?

The only thing that was exponential was the experience from using a skill (per swing that hits, per spell cast, etc) needed to advance to each new level. But that was for the skill. It could well be a fixed number that is gained in Skyrim to reach a new level, but they have stated repeatedly how higher level skills raising will count more. What this tells me is that they may weigh the actual gain for a skill change such that it is not a gain of one for one skill up. In other words, yeah it takes say 20 total "points" towards leveling each time, but gaining one of these level up points may not be the equal of one skill leveling up once. That could get multiplied by an ever increasing amount like 1.05 at skill level 20 but 1.45 at level 40 or so on. In fact, if there is a fixed level cap, then this really strongly speaks to a direct proportion amount to the skill level itself, since then only would the series totals for all 18 leveling to 100 be the "max" level.

Every stat starts at 5, so you've 18 x 5 starting points. Plus every race has five +5 bonus and one +10 bonus. So the sum of all stats combined at the beginning of the game is 105. This mean each character has 1800-105=1695 chances to improve.

If the number of skill increases need to reach a new level is always equal to 10, then a player could theoretically increase up to lvl 170.

So, this time the leveling system will be different as we already know that the maximum level that can be reached is 75.

and as far as leveling goes I think it works a little more simple than people think.

for example

from level 1 - 2 it only takes 5 any skill level ups but from 2-3 it might take 6 or 7 and that just raises as you level up. maybe by 1 per level because I've seen some game play from lvl 1-14 and it would seem this is how it works. 1800 skill levels total would make sense with this kind of leveling.
