How many of you have beaten the MQ?

Post » Sat Dec 17, 2011 12:47 am

I play all the number Elder Scroll game right to each Main Quest ending and in the end, I still prefer Daggerfall's Main Quest over all other Main Quests. There a hell lot of reason why, like ya are nothing but an agent/spy in a foreign world (you are a nobody and its stay that way all the way); its wide open ended (three branches of Main Quest but all needed to be done to do the last dungeon), it show politics at its finest, and Daggerfall contains one of the most mind boggling final dungeon any of the TES ever has.

I've had two characters, close to 200 combined hours. My current character is just about to start the Diplomatic immunity quest which is as far as I've ever been and have no idea far into the main quest that is.

So far I like the MQ (and the game). It has it's faults sure but after how much I disliked Oblivion, I'm pleasantly surprised by Skyrim and the MQ so far.

I have only done the main quest to get Breezehome and that is it. I will beat it eventually but it will probably be after the final DLC is released like it was for Morrowind and Oblivion.

Morrowinds is the one that stands out in my mind, even though I finished the Skyrim MQ recently.

I have to agree. The Daggerfall MQ was the best hands down. Skyrim and Oblivion were pretty good though.

I can't say about Morrowind as that game was so freaking boring I never got around to finishing it despite multiple attempts. But as a sleep aid Morrowind was great.

I finished Skyrim's MQ, and have finished all the MQs for all the main TES titles. Morrowind is still my favorite MQ, closely followed by Daggerfall.

I voted for Skyrim... but with reservations. I don't like how few options we have. There's very little difference between how a Paladin and an Assassin would choose to complete it.

Voted Skyrim since I liked the story of it more but the experience playing through Morrowind's was much better.

And when I say I enjoyed the story more I mean conceptually, Morrowind had better storytelling.

That seems to be how it goes with any franchise. Those that loved the previous title hate on the newer one, regardless of it's individual merits.

Daggerfall had the best story. Its an epic political mystery involving nothing more that the disgusting desires of backstabbing nobles. No 'chosen one' no 'prophecy' no high fantasy flares or knightly heroes. Just a rugged undercover blades agent (you) tossed in the middle of a sh!tstorm of multiple [censored]ing city states. Skyrims civil war has nothing on this one.

Unfortunately the story presentation isnt the best. Its just been wabbajacked by the insanity of the game itself.

I concur. Far and away the best story, at least once you managed to get a non-bugged path through.

I finished the main quest just now. Very enjoyable. Now I think I will start a new character and do everything except the main quest. Happy gaming! :celebration:

I've only really played Oblivion, and now Skyrim, so I picked Oblivion. I can imagine the other games having better main quests, like Morrowind, I would've liked that. Still, Oblivion's main quest was good, just a bit too confronting (there are gates EVERYWHERE). Skyrim's MQ strangely enough felt.. short, and less special. It's the final part actually that's quite the anti-climix. Of course these things can be modded, but I suppose you have to look at it the vanilla way to vote
