How to play this [censored] crazy but amazing game?!

My main grief is that having a fair number of essential NPCs is a.) immersion breaking and b.) lack of being able to do quests, or gain quests, in multiple ways.

An NPC, I feel in an open world game like Skyrim, should never be immortal to the player. If they are tied to a quest then offer up other ways to provide, and progress through, the quest in case the player decides to nuke that particular NPC.
And that is why Morrowind is still top dog when it comes to freedom. At least in my oppinion.

Spoiler

Killing all those canabilistic Namira worshippers and the entire Dark Brotherhood was fun though.
I just wish Skyrim was filled with more moments like that.

I wanted to gut every single Stormcloak I saw on my Dark Elf...

There's a mod for that eh'. You could just download the Creation Kit and set everyone as kill-able, unless of course, you are a console unfortunate.

360, yeah.

We have a PS3 at my place as well... no desire whatsoever to even attempt that.

Yea those camp leaders really bug me. Once I pick a side, everyone on the opposing side should become killable. It's obvious I'm not going to be using them any more. There are instances where NPC's are unkillable until a specific task is completed and then they become killable so we know it's possible. How they overlooked that is beyond me, and on the console it's very frustrating to say the least. Fortunately you can kill off the rest of the camp which is still satisfying. I would still agree with the initial statement that most NPC's can be killed. The camp leaders, kids, and a handful of quest related characters hardly make up a substantial portion of the Skyrim population.
