How do YOU roleplay your character?

I don't roleplay much either. My character is typically an extension of the real me.

However Boone had me roleplaying a little bit on my first playthrough....that is, I tried very hard to "act" in a fashion that I thought his vengeful character would respect and want to stay with...as well as listen to, so he wouldn't, y'know, off himself or something. ;) I did this via dialogue choices and quest choices. I also wrote a bit of story for myself about our travels, in the form of a journal that my character might keep, but that didn't last too long. I have a difficult time seeing my character as anything but "me."

Currently I'm not really roleplaying at all. Just running around killing things. Rawr.

Hehe, I run around my house collecting bent tin cans, empty beer bottles, and pick flowers that my wife got as a "Thank You" gift from work. Then I shoot squirrels with a NERF gun in my back yard while constantly repeating "Plasma Caster!" Oh yeah, and my dogs get temporarily named "Rex" and "Boone"... Still haven't figured out how to get "Boone" to fire a NERF gun though... :banghead:

Here are my characters:

(Aristotle) Salk -- A few years ago he was a member of the BoS. Away on a mission during the battle for Helios 1, he was shocked to hear about their defeat and the subsequent lockdown. He left the mojave for a while, to survive on his own, and eventually learned to forget his hate for other factions, instead becoming a mercenary that will will work with anybody for technology. After getting shot in the head, his mind was addled and he half-forgot about the BoS, only remembering vague things. After meeting Veronica in the 188 rest stop, he began to regain his memories, as well as start to hate the NCR, the Legion, and anyone else that could harm the BoS. As such, when he met Yes Man, he decided to work with him, thinking that he could use Yes Man's army in raising the BoS back to power.

Monty -- An ex-member of the NCR, he was a simple soldier during the first battle at Hoover Dam. Not entirely sure how he became a member of the Mojave express (prolly after leaving the military he needed some money), but he became one, and then the story happened. He realised he couldn't not be in the army looking at the state of it, and has decided to help out any way he can. His skill got him to be a ranger pretty quickly. Meeting and befriending another Ex-Soldier, Boone, the two have become looked up to by the soldiers of the NCR, and feared by the members of Caesar's Legion.

Six (as in Courier Six) -- An agent working for Mr. House. He was entrusted with the delivery of the Platinum Chip, and was devastated when he lost it. He went back to House in shame, and vowed to get it back for him. After removing Benny from existence, has begun working to help Mr. House reach his goals for New Vegas. He has also taken it upon himself to raise the overall quality of New Vegas himself, and is becoming a legend around the city.

My character in the Lone Wanderer, who is me. So I roleplayed that the LW (Me) found an RV, got it back to working condition with his merc group, and set off for California. Little did he know that he would be stopped near Primm, asked to brink a package to New Vegas, and get shot.

I pretty much did the same thing. The LW moves west (except my LW is not me since the char is female).
