Idea: Obsidian Entertainment making Elder Scrolls Game.

Yeah, Obsidian has had many unfair deadlines. But they did pretty well with FO:NV, IMO.

I wouldn't buy a TES made by another studio. I enjoy Bethesda games for what they are, and they are pretty distinct in this market. And btw I don't care about Fallout franchise, I'm only interested in TES.

Screw Obsidian they are a small studio that makes games with 84 Metacritic. That's too low for a legendary franchise like The Elder Scrolls to be dragged through the mud like that. I believe Bethesda (the studio) is doing just fine, they don't need this kind of 'help'.

Don't tell me you actually trust "professional" reviews...

Bethesda should NEVER design the quests for their own games. They're just plain terrible at writing and quest designing.

This is the crux of the matter. Obsidian only come into it because New Vegas put Bethesda's writing to shame. But that's not difficult - if you asked your average high school class to write some Elder Scrolls quests they'd likely give Bethesda a run for their money. Bethesda's writing is becoming ever more dire and all they seem to care about these days is awesome powers and epicness. Story is just something that presents an excuse for epic things to happen, not something they seem to put any thought into any more. They don't need Obsidian, they just need to get some people on board who know how to write. The person who wrote the awful nonsensical mess of plot holes that is the thieves guild should never be allowed near an Elder Scrolls quest again. None of their current writers should be allowed near an Elder Scrolls quest again. Because Skyrim proves their current writers don't have any writing ability.

Oh another thing Bethesda handled the Bug testing for Fallout New Vegas not Obsidian so we can all blame the bugs on Bethesda.

They obviously can't compete with Dawnguard's triumphant Metacritic score of 73 then...

Not of course that metacritic matters - who cares what so-called 'professional' reviewers say?

elder scrolls should always be developed by bethesda (exclude es:online), but i wouldnt mind obsidian continuing the fallout series.

They really should. I just know Fallout 4 is going to make me want to cry. Ok TES is Beth's baby, but it's a complete travesty that the Fallout franchise has to be subjected to their shockingly bad writing and lack of creativity. After the Underworld rip-off of Dawnguard, I dread to think what Hollywood films they'll be plagiarising for the next Fallout.

Yeah, I bet Obsidian couldn't produce DLC of the year for 2011 if their life depended on it! Only a legendary company like Bethesda can produce good DLC!

Don′t agree, I think they could end the current great atmosphere.

Example: Neverwinter Nights> Bioware
Neverwinter Nights 2> Obsidian.

Take a look at the 2 (with the understanding that NWN is older), then you won′t like the idea of Obsidian into a TES game
