Imperials' connection to the Thalmor [SPOILERS]

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 4:18 pm

In one of the recent leaked videos, while being taken into the Imperial fort, it was mentioned by a Stormcloak that "The Thalmor are here" and that they might be connected with the current events. Could this mean that the Imperials are allied with the Thalmor? I am almost certainly not going to side with the Imperials if it is true.

Thalmor? As in the provisional government set up by the Bosmer and the Altmer during the Aldmeri Dominion?
Or did you mean Falmer/Snow Elves?

I'm pretty sure I heard Thalmor. "And it looks like the Thalmor are with them. Damned elves. I bet they had something to do with this."

And this is why everyone should be allied with the Stormcloaks, the Empire can no longer be trusted.

I can't believe they would ally with an organisation who clearly wants to destroy mankind; the Empire's rulers being men themselves. :ermm:

I'm pretty sure the thalmor are an enemy of the empire or at least they were during Titus Medes time so that wouldn't really make sense.
I imagine if they are allied with anyone it would be the rebels since their success would weaken the empire.

Indeed, but what I heard seems to prove that the Thalmor are somehow on the side of the Imperials, even if just exploiting them. It is also over 100 years since Titus Mede's reign in Skyrim.

Unless the Emperor is just a puppet to some (possibly elven) grey eminence or shadow government...

The empire is very weak now compared to the aldmeri dominion. They already banned Talos because the elves wanted. Who's to say they didn't humble themselves more to appease the elves.

Yeah I saw that after I posted, interesting. I had considered the time difference but the thalmor is essentially whats keeping imperial control out of valenwood and summerset so I imagine they aren't on the best of terms, unless the empire is just going to acknowledge their independence now and are trying to hold on to what they have desperately enough to ask for their help. Should be interesting to see more of :)

So, if I'm pro-Human, or even respect my own humanity, it doesn't make sense for me to support the Empire any more huh? :(

Not necessarily, the aldmeri dominion is pretty much just independent elven empire if you would call two provinces an empire. We'd have to know more about them and their motivations to see if there's some nefarious purpose to helping the empire fight the stormcloaks. I suspect there is though.

I also suspect that they have some unknown motives; I don't want to help the Empire only to realise I've been serving some Thalmor plan to destroy humanity in the end.

The empire has to fall anyway, as there is no dragonborn on the throne... can't let that stand :P

My imperial brothers do not loose faith! The stromcloaks are cowards In the Leaked intro the stromclaosk were running away While the legion held the line against the dragon! Also in the live action trailer the stormcloaks are still running away! The empire must stand!
