My impressions so far....

How is the nighttime view in Skyrim? Compared to Oblivion, I loved Morrowind's nighttime scenery, it had a much more mystical feel to it, to the point where I would often walk around just staring at the sky.

When you read books does the game pause or does it keep going in real time?
Yes, it's paused.

Really? Can't say i experienced it like that really. But then again...i am only in the very beginning of the game.
Well it definately feels better than the combat in Oblivion, you gotta agree on that :)

Glad to hear that :) and of course.Dont listen to complains, theyare just graphic wh0res.
and i never listen to negative things...almost.
I am also getting skyrim for the 360.
I jellynow..... i wish i was youlol

And the "I'm awesome! I pirated the game! Now I'm going to say that everything seems bad because I don't understand the game" attitude of some of the early players don't helped.

I've spent almost the whole day at work, unpacking, pricing and preparing skyrim for the shop floor... Not allowed to take one home early... Just have to keep looking at those burlap maps... oh yea... weird thing, all the maps I've seen even on un-preordered games have an odd texture - like material. Not just glossy paper like oblivion. rough, criss crossy, dirty looking leathery style stuff.

I got through about 100 copies of skyrim today... It hurt SO bad. It was like giving everyone a gift at christmas, knowing what the gifts are but not being allowed ot touch them even though you actually want it sooooo baaddd.

Well you got the game 2 days early. So why isn't it unlocked on Steam, so we can do the same?

Very true.

I can't answer the question about nighttime yet, cause i haven't seen that yet :D. But like someone else said, the new video shows it.

I agree, i think it should be released over the whole world. I am still incredibly surprised that the stores in my country obviously just don't care and sell it....normally they always pay attention to embargo's but not this time. Only with online stores i've had several games early this year. Gears of War 3 arrived 5 days early at my house, same with Batman AC.

Yes! You equip your weapon with X, or right trigger for that matter, from there you can't just rotate around your character anymore. But if you hold down the right anolog and move the left anolog around, you can rotate around your character.

That's probably not gonna happen no, but i kinda forgot..was this possible in Fallout 3?

I also got to try out magic, and omfg i love it in this one...it feels much better than Oblivion.

Before i get any accusations about a leaked copy and what not, i received my copy of Skyrim in my mailbox today, Xbox 360 version.

Skyrim game

Well so far its been nothing but awesome.

Looks absolutely awesome to be honest, i'm not trying to exeggerate. But after the many negative comments on the leaked footage last week(especially on other forums/sites, i was expecting dissapointing graphics. But i see nothing but awesome graphics, i'm in a dungeon now and it looks great. Almost as if there's bumpmapping on the walls, the textures look great and there are also environmental effects, looks sweet!!!! Sure....if you get extremely close to some walls, you can see it gets a bit low-res, but honestly...i think if i'd do that with any game, that would be the case.

Nice little details like when i found a book and i grabbed it, it flapped open. Loading times so far are very short, i had to reload in this dungeon and it was incredibly fast. Much much better than Oblivion. There have been people that claimed it didn't look that better or didn't run any better than Oblivion. I can only say that they have NO idea what they are talking about. It looks WORLDS better than Oblivion and in terms of performance it's absolutely fine so far. Remember how badly optimized Oblivion was on Xbox 360? None of that. My character is an Argonian and i think i will keep it like that, he looks awesome.

I made this thread for people who don't have the game yet, i hope they can apreciate this. I can only be happy with the game. Maybe people have questions, and i can try to answer them, as long as it doesn't have to do with any quest things or things that require me to travel an awful lot. Won't be possible for me, cause i take things REAAAAAAAL slowly in games like this. :) But if anyone wants a screenshot of something (that isn't spoiler-ific) i'll do that, no prob.

This is a silly question but I want to know.

Since you can't view your character in the inventory system like you could in Oblivion when testing out armor etc, can you at least swing around your character in 3rd person mode in the game and see him/her from all angles.

I want to be able to see my characters face IN game and how it looks with armor from the front of the character. Otherwise it would be no point in making a cool character face etc if you can never see it.

Yes, you can fully rotate around your character :)

You can rotate around him/her with the right anolog stick when you have nothing equipped. You have to press and hold right anolog and then you can move the left anolog to zoom in and rotate around your character.

Archery to me feels very similar to Oblivion, maybe a bit more 'realistic' i guess though. I thought there were only 3rd person executions? Well i just had my first, first person execution on a bear!!

Thanks for answering questions. Appreciate it. How often do finishing moves happen? Are they varied enough to not repeat a lot? How's the snow/rain?
