Ingredients. Which do you think tastes the worst?

Post » Wed Nov 07, 2012 11:20 am

Troll Fat or Giant's Toe.

I really want to know what Moon Sugar tastes like. I imagine it's a little like powdered sugar.

Worst- Giants Toe, 2nd worst- Vampire Dust, 3rd worst- Chaurus eggs. That is my list of the worst tasting ingredients in Skyrim. As a side note, I cannot see nord mead tasting to good...

The majority of alchemy ingredients are repulsive. It's hard to choose just one. I definitely wouldn't want to try Jarrin Root, that's for sure.
Ate it and survived. :D

And I would imagine Giant's Toe taste like roasted pig hoof: smoky flavor with large chunks of chewy tendons, which aren't bad at all. Can't imagine eating it raw though.

Giant's Toe was the first I thought of. And human heart/flesh (I don't even eat that in the game!) Having read this thread I'd like to add Spider egg, Chaurus egg and Falmer's ear on the list. Troll fat doesn't sound too appeasing either, though I suspect it's one of those ingredients the future Skyrim food industry will use in the products and give a nice clean number so you don't think about what it actually is. :yuck:

Oh, and I'm not sure about butterfly wings.

I wonder how Giant's Toe would taste if you just ate it like that raw. haha .. Stinky feet.

How about Mort Flesh from Oblivion?

Oh don't be squeamish. I'm pretty sure that anything that is edible in any extend that got passed under a fire would actually taste good. Chaurus and spiders' eggs would be popping with taste. Giant toe would have a smoky flavor. Troll fat actually looks like a bowl of rice pudding; pour it out on a pan, do it over with some mead and spread in on bread.

And Charred Skeever Hides are popular food, also packed with beneficial bonuses and no poison effects. So I would imagine Skeever Tail's being something as such when properly cooked.

I've only ever seen it at Giant and Bandit camps.

Hell, some Bandits at Greymore feed it to the prisoners.

I definitely cringe when my character eats some of the more... interesting ingredients. The bee, for example.

Giant's toe... don't think you could even bite it judging from the size of it!

What about a giant's toe? Man that's horrible...

Spoiler
During the To Kill An Empire quest, you have the option to add Giant's Toe (also a sweet roll, vampire dust and a septim) into the Potage la Magnifice for the lulz. And Gianna said that it make sense to have such an ingredients to give the dish such an "earthy" taste... IE: Taste like a dirty foot  .

Fire salts.
Salty and literally hot? Like licking a Flame Atronach :D

Also, Frost Salts are used to preserve food in Skyrim. So I would think Fire Salts have the exact opposite effect with no foul taste.
