The WGC is not "intelligent." It's cowardly. The redguard proved it was unnecessary, and by the time Skyrim is also leaving the empire, it's time to realize that you made a bad deal and start fighting the real enemy instead of your own people.
If it's okay to condemn Titus Mede II for something that turned out to be possibly unwise in hindsight (also notice that for all that one claim, a lot of people in Skyrim seem convinced that the WGC was necessary) it's similarly okay to condemn Ulfric for causing Alduin's power to wax, condemning countless Nords to be devoured by the World Eater.

Plus, as has been said, the Redguards merely pushed the Thalmor out of Hammerfell. And from the look of it, the Thalmor gained more from withdrawing from Hammerfell than had they stayed.

I think it shows why she's a good candidate to be High Queen.

If she actually believed that Talos was something which SHOULD be outlawed, she'd have to die according to my Dragonborn.

Unfortunately, she seems to really not believe Talos is a god.

Which is stupid.

Edit:

Separating the issue from the "Imperials, svck, Stormcloaks rule" and vice versa though is the fact the WGC is SURRENDER. The Empire isn't doing this because they want to, they're doing it because the Thalmor BEAT THEM and dictated terms to them. It's like a bit from a movie I watched.

"I sign this under duress."

"It's a surrender agreement, of course it's under duress! That's why they call it surrender!"
