Next gen 3D monitors are already out. NVIDIA 3D Vision 2nd generation is going to be out in a month.
Eventually once everyone has a 120hz refresh rate monitor 3D will be available to everyone, they just need the glasses and it's pre-built into NVIDIA drivers.
