No offense intended by this post. This is a genuine request to understand why Skyrim isn't 3D ready for NVIDIA 3D Vision?

Full respect goes to Todd Howard, but just because he doesn't like 3D why do I have to suffer? It's very hard for me to stare at a flat 2D screen since I've grown accustom to 3D. My eyes keep trying to establish depth & distance between objects but they can't.

It's more because hardly anyone uses 3D

Same reason virtual Reality never made it.

It takes quite a bit of power to render the double image and devs have to sacrafice graphics to get it to work, which is why I am glad Skyrim isn't in 3d or we would have no grass and billboard trees everywhere.

I swear I've seen this exact post before. Also, does this mean that you view the forums in 3D? Or all your internet browsing in 3D?

Poor guy, he doesn't have his 3D. But, you know, there are millions of people in the world that play on a cheap flat 2d screen, I think you can adapt. Or it's a matter of life and death for you?

Have you tried it in 3D yet? It works very well. There are some problems (underwater rocks are off and stars look like they're popping out at you rather than part of the sky) but for the most part it works very well.

Works perfectly fine using the PS3 Version and a samsung 3D screen, Samsung's 3D upscale is excellent.

Isn't it funny how resentful and full of snarky remarks 3D haters are? They're just so sophisticated and above the "gimmicks" of the sheep, eh?

Not trying to be snarky, but sounds like a pretty good reason to me. He is the game director, after all.

3D Gimmick crap in Skyrim?

No thanks. There are plenty of awful awful things being produced because of this 3D fad, Skyrim doesn't need to be one of them.

It's amazing how ignorant people are when it comes to 3D technology.

If you're comparing what you see in the movie theatre to 3D for directx technology then you lose all credibility when you comment.

3d is The final frontier for media. First we have movies in b&w with no sound, then we got some sound, then colour, then huge screens, then surround sound, then we got interactive pc games, amazing graphics. Its all heading that way, to the point where everything that could or should be in 3d will be. It is an amazing feature that only adds to the immersiveness, when implemented correctly. For those that are saying they love how they get lost in this game, well 3d makes that even easier. In a few years it will be a given. I remember when i way young wanting to watch movies in surround sound, my parents thought i way crazy going to the lengths i did to have that experience, but now it is just accepted that movies have surround sound. Same goes for 3d.

Now they dont have surround sound for the news, or even some movies, so they of course wont bother with 3d, so it will ne used where appropriate. But skyrim would only benefit with the technology.

Just a side question, what is the hud like with 3d, is it usable?

This pretty much. 3D is more a gimmick right now until the tech gets better.

You could say the same thing about many of the comments complaining about it while they are ignorant of the fact the 3D works...

3d is The final frontier for media.

I thought that was holography?

3D has come and gone a couple times over the years. Nobody should be surprised it's not catching on this time either.

I'm waiting for holography personally. With no annoying glasses.

I wouldn't set foot in a theater with the tripe they put out tailored to the morons who'll look slack jawed at the screen. I also loath shallow games produced because of 3D. I would rather a company ships a fantastic game, instead of spending time trying to make it brilliant in 3D, and sacrificing something else along the way. You want 3D? Look out of your window.

It's amazing how ignorant people are when assuming things about other people.

3d doesn't have a large enough market share to be a viable and worthwhile way to spend the resources it would require to accommodate for it.

If I look out my window will I see a dragon and a high fantasy world with orcs and such?

No not at all.
It's cause I told him not too.

Or mabe he ignored me and didn't do it just cause Skryims a hugh game and 3-D wasn't a priority for the overall quality of the game.

3D is great when it is used in a subtle fashion. It is obnoxious when they make things pop out at you or swing in your face. 3D will be great when they stop trying to design for 3D.
