Just got dawnstar lot...

I'm so disappointed, not even stone houses, but having a house all the way in the pale too much to ask for?

I know, I spent all of that $5 to get this crap?

Like, they didnt even add everything I wanted in this DLC. It's BS. I wanted them to add AK47s and Dwemer mansions, but no. what a waste of a DLC.

They should hire everyone one of us to design a DLC tailored to exactly what we want, because this is just dumb. I was expecting weredragons and playable stratego in this DLC, why didnt I get it!?!?!?

I don't understand what it is you're disappointed about. What's wrong with the Dawnstar plot ?

I was just wanting it to be farther in the pale, not at the very edge

I think he means that it's as far down south towards Whiterun as possible while still -TECHNICALLY- being in the Pale.
Personally when I saw the carriage system, I'd hoped it meant that we now basically had a two-way carriage system to Falkreath, Morthal and Dawnstar now, where instead of only being able to go from Whiterun to Morthal but not Morthal to Whiterun, we effectively could go both ways.

The problem is the Dawnstar home literally looks more like it's in Whiterun hold. They put it incredibly far down south, so no, that ruins the two-way travel system for Dawnstar entirely.

So there aren't any houses located in really snowy areas ? I'm seriously considering wether to purchase this now. Why didn't we get a plot in Winterhold as well. I agree with OP, just seen pictures of Dawnstar plot, very disappointing indeed.

that is actually my favorite one(partly how I built the house) it is cool with the bedrooms, armory, and storage, having the balcony go connect on 3 sides, plus plenty of space(falkreths was kind of tight)

This vid will show you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuJa2BK2W60

The locations are weird, with two of them next to enemy spawns.

I'm not bothered by it. The carriage driver you get can take you to any city or small town, so transportation isn't a problem. I am dissapointed in the lack of design changes (Home in differetn holds should look different), but hey, it's only $5.

You're right Longknife. Man this really svcks. I'll probably still buy it anyway but I really hope they add a new plot in Winterhold in a free update.

It's South east down the mountain with the lord stone, south of duskglow crevice, at the very edge of the snow region, I would be happy if it was in the area around hall of the vigilants and windward ruins. But anywhere in that area is just "too much to ask". I mean 3 homes that have the same basic design, at least let us have difference in scenic landscape

IMO, the best one is morthal area, since its the least boring looking out if the 3, dawnstar being the worst

No, that's EXACTLY the problem.

Pre-Hearthfire, if you take a carriage to Dawnstar you CANNOT take a carriage back. You have to walk to Solitude or Whiterun.
Some of us (or apparently, many of us) hoped that Hearthfire would effectively give Dawnstar, Falkreath and Morthal a carriage system, but because the Dawnstar house has such a crappy location that's actually closer to Whiterun, it's carriage is basically useless. By the time you walk from Dawnstar to your Dawnstar house, you've walked 75% of the way to Whiterun. Hell, it's faster to walk to your house from Whiterun....Seems very odd considering the Morthal and Falkreath homes are right outside of their respective towns.

I also think we're disappointed because of the theme. Personally? I LOVE Dawnstar. Blue skies and blue waters. It's a very nice looking hold. But the house location of Dawnstar doesn't have any of that because it's basically Whiterun hold. I wanted a house in the snowy tundras, not near Whiterun.

I kind of agree with this. Having a house closer to Dawnstar and all of the blizzard like conditions would've been much cooler. As it stands right now, the Pale plot looks more like Spring weather than anything else. Oh well, I'm still buying it. :P

Agreed, and I am disappointed. Out of all of the spots, they picked the spot right at the border near Whiterun. I really wanted a house deep in the snowy tundra with, you know, actual snow on the ground. Like seriously, why have a house right there when Whiterun is just down the road? I wanted a house way north near Dawnstar so I had a spot to rest in the north. I guess it will have to do.

I'm usually not the complaining type, but come on Bethesda, when you say the Pale, I would suspect you can actually have a house in the Pale. Not have half of the land in Whiterun.

Because the Having the dawnstar spot in a more dawnstar area rather than all the way to whiterun is basically asking for AK47s and dwemer Mansions. Because for 5$ you get 3 locations that one of which is barely in the proper region.

It's in the woods, just south of that lake.

And it's not like the Dawnguard lot is the end of the world either. There is snow, and while I to would rather have had it more north, it's nothing worth getting feathers ruffled over.

If you want to live In the forest of falkreath, no problem. The issue is if you want to live in the snowy region of dawnstar and winterhold. Closet thing to a snowy region you can get is the one near morthal, which is near a snow area and the mashes.

Considering its not even near dawnstar, and you miss the point, everyone is just majorly disappointed since you would expect it to be somewhere up north, not nearby whiterun. Also considering the fact that there are only 3 locations.

I know, I know. The only thing that is getting my jimmies in a bunch is that Whiterun is literally just down the road at a walking distance. Where my other house is. Just seems like a waste to build only a few miles north of Whiterun.
