Just had an amazing idea for a future DLC.

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 6:21 am

A defenseless old woman that is physically, mentally, and emotionally abusing every child left in her care.

Then take into consideration that all of this was apparently so horrible that it made a 10 year old boy brave the trip through the wilderness from Riften to Windhelm (unequipped and by himself mind you) rather than stay another day in that orphanage.

And again, if you go back to the orphanage and talk to the kids who're still there, they're all praising the Dark Brotherhood for saving their lives, ending their torture, etc. One can only imagine the level of depravity she went to when abusing those kids.

Naw, she didn't deserve to die at all... /sarcasm

I kill Grelod with a smile in every single game I start up. After becoming a Vampire, it's the first quest I undertake.

It's still cold-blooded murder. Right thing to do would be to denounce her to the Jarl.

I would accept this as an addition in a patch, but NOT as a whole DLC. The only "lite" DLC I would accept is a house pack (something like the house addons for Oblivion, but several of them in one). The old lady should charge more for the children, while the younger lady should charge less (logic being that you got rid of an awful person?). But letting the child have some radiant quests would be nice. Something like "He got lost exploring a cave" or "He ran away".
BUT, not as a full DLC, a patch or rolled into a future DLC.

No matter how mean someone is, murder is wrong. Point blank.

In Skyrim, it would not make sense for a truly "good" archetype to murder anyone. Even a mean old hag.

Even Daddy warbucks isn't going to dish out ten grand for a little brat. The most I would pay is 2,000 tops and they have to chop wood and sell it so I get more money.

I'm all for it if I'm able to adopt some khajiit children. I'm tired of seeing only those snotty Nord children. It's like Skyrim is against the creation of beast race children. Imagine seeing an Orc child take down a bear with his bare hands. He would make the best son ever.

I would only adopt if there were kids for each race. For some reason I see the mer races being a problem though.

That seems like it would work really well. But what of you don't kill Grelod? It should be an option to adopt without killing her. And 10,000 septims? C'mon... that's too much for a kid I'll be giving an allowance. Other than that, the idea is flawless.
Hm...on the one hand I could buy a kid...on the other I could get a full suit of ebony armor. Tough choice.

I didnt mean for the idead to be a stand alone dlc. If you read what i wrote, youd clearly see that it would be like the facial sculptor lady, something just added in the background

Amazing-er idea for a future DLC: You play as Aventus Arentino, ten years later, the newest recruit to the Dark Brotherhood. And you've just learned who killed your parents all those years ago. The whole thing takes place in a 1:1 scaled Riften (I imagine a realistically sized city would fill up at least half of Skyrim's map...). A Riften that you have to cut a bloody swath across to reach the man who murdered your family... And return the favor.

Yes, and they really need to add on to the marriage selections as well, so that every race has at least one of each gender NPC to marry. Right now, there are a handful of races missing one of the genders in terms of marriage options, and Wood Elf and Khajiit NPCs cannot be married at all. And don't say that mods can fix that, since they really can't fix that problem too well at the moment, not without either using a different eligible voice type or making edits to the various relationship-related quests, the latter of which would cause all sorts of incompatibilities with other mods that try and do the same thing. Also, mods currently do no good for people on consoles besides future TES content being inspired by them.

Well to be fair, you kinda just said "Like the face sculptor lady" you never specified how it'd be like the face sculptor lady...

I'd say yes to this under one condition:

I get to take all the kids to Dawnstar and raise them to be the next generation of the Dark Brotherhood.

There's no information about Aventus' father, but his mother died of an illness in the winter.

I don't want kids in a game..... I'll get a Khajiit kid and use him as a pet.

This idea may or or may not be good, but is by all means to small of features to be released as a "Bethesda DLC".

That sounds like it could potentially be even more riveting and amazing than Skyrim's detailed, ground-breaking, award-winning marriage system.

i think the sims is more your style, milk-drinker

obviously he meant these to be just a portion of the DLC, which, judging by what was in the game jam amd what has already been released in dawnguard, id say hes pretty spot on

after you kill that woman to start DB questline, the woman who takes over has the option to talk about adoption, but says that no kids are available for at adoption at the time. so its likely bethesda could be planning to add it
