Lava - A Glimpse at the Future

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 9:36 pm

As far as I know, the lava in the aetherium forge is the only lava in the game. Now this may just be an overreaction, but I think something this unique and scarce could possibly be linked to the next DLC. These are just my thoughts, and if I'm saying something that sounds delirious, please point it out. If this could be a foreshadowing, however, what could it mean?

What is so special in lava? Dwemer constantly dig deeper into mountains, their strongholds on Vvanderfell are surrounded by them.

In the game, in the entire game of skyrim, only this quest contains lava? It seems a bit wasted, don't you think?

Yep.
My point is this: Since it's so unused in dawnguard, maybe it will be used in a future DLC. It's scarcity in the game is completely contrary to the last Elder Scroll's lava.

Actually... I want some epic LOTR style battles involving lava now. Consider me hopeful.

It's actually magma, but I'm just being pedantic.

Wow, you're right. I usually catch small things like that. My bad.

On a Side Note: The magma actually holds some secrets, however you may need to be experienced in shouts or enchanting to be able to find them.

Oh yaaa lets buy a 25 dollar DLC only about Lava. Lava has been in some form in almost every single Elderscrolls, look at oblivion, there was lava in the Oblivion realm. Lets make another horse armor plug in next.

Yup, I'd like to see a future DLC where we go deep underground to a Dwemer city, and I wouldn't be surprised to see lakes of magmuh.

Every game has a compulsory lava filled level. It's a stigma of game design.

It's just like those obnoxious mid-game boss battles everybody loathe, but that keep getting included into any new peoduct.

Yep. Go all the way across get to the chest and there is some useless iron axe inside... Wish they placed the better equipment in hard to get areas.

Don't be ridiculous. It's a 60 dollar DLC about Tamrielic MAGMA. Not lava.

I didn't mean it was going to be literally based around magma/lava, just that it might have something to do with it. For example, maybe the player could find himself going underground or into some Oblivion realm with it. If the magma is a clue, it's better than nothing. At least it could spark a little speculation (which was the entire point of this thread).

There are three chests accessible through the magma, but I thought the 3 outside chests had better stuff, certainly exploring around the outer cave area was more rewarding. The magma was hot, the rewards it hid were not.

No, we need horse armor made out of lava=£20 content right there

On a more serious note, i have not been here yet, but if there is lava i don't see why bethesda would only use it once

Exactly! It would be odd if they did. Anyway, a subterranean battle with a lava dragon wouldn't be too shabby, especially if you had to hop across unstable rock islands floating amid a fuming acrid lake of magma.

Don't know about the magma/lava being important but the small earthshakes around dwarven ruins in mountain regions has got me suspect. and yes i said earthshakes not earthquakes as they are only small but still very noticable shakes.

The true question is how that Forgemaster didn't melt in the magma...
