Legendary Dragon: when and where should I expect to meet the

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 6:03 pm

Nearly every single dragon Braggen (77) got since Dawnguard was installed was a Revered Dragon (about 10 instant spawning ones and the 2 in the Forgotten Vale) and he is only on Adept level. Did you complete the main questline Zexis0710?
Yesss <.< I would certainly hope so. I've completed every major questline in Skyrim, and nearly every side quest. Apart from miscellaneous tasks, finding a Legendary is my last big "accomplishment" that needs to be met.

Keep trying then, maybe some of us just have to wait till we get to level 78. I am setting Braggen on a dragon hunt at the moment and will keep a tally of how many dragons he gets and what they were. Then I will go get him up to level 78 and try it all over again and see what happens. He better get a Legendary dragon at level 78, I am long since tired of trying to work on his destruction magic it is that weak.

OK after a lot of trying I finally got the beast. Aussie despite not having discovered most dragons, could not get one at level 61, she has no self spawning dragons. Braggen used to have heaps of them, but they never appear when he fast travels now. Even going back to before he started Dawnguard, his dragons seem to have vanished. He did manage to get a few Revered dragons, but like with Aussie the sods ran off, he never managed to get one.

Even at level 78, could not get a Legendary dragon. All the set location ones were the same type they were when he first fought them. I gave up and ended up going on a mass destruction tour as a Vampire Lord working on Braggen's perks. After about 40 minutes I got to Winterhold and thought better not go there, turned around to double back before being seen and a Legendary dragon finally turns up. Luckily he went for Braggen and not Winterhold. I must say I am hopeless at fighting dragons as a Vampire Lord, almost got killed before running and transforming back to human form. Braggen did not have that much trouble getting rid of it, unfortunately it was night and snowing so I never really got a good look at it. I am wondering, if I set Aussie up to work on her werewolf perks, would she get a Legendary dragon?

Like I said, as long you are level 50 or above and have done the quest to unlock dragons, you will eventually get one.. Just walk around and enjoy the scenery until you do.. (Try not to fast travel cause you are better off finding the dragon in the wild randomly)

Also, it seem like Winterhold does get dragons a lot so check out that town from time to time.

I have fought 2 so far, both at Mount Anthor.

They had drastic differences in health, the first died from 15 Dragonbone Arrows fired from a Dragonbone Bow (Legendary) and the second took 39.

Also i got lucky on the 2nd 1 and i didn't absorb the soul.

I got a good look at it they are purple with cool horns and 4 eyes in each eye-socket

Just explore the world.. Follow the roads, kill random stuff, etc. You'll find one eventually.

Braggen got a second Legendary dragon when he fast travelled to Dawnstar, daylight and I still missed getting a good look at it, was in too much of a hurry trying to get rid of it before it killed anyone. Then just as it dropped and I was going to have a good look three Dawnstar idiots decide to attack Braggen. I am not that interested in Legendary dragons I want to wipe out towns just to inspect one.

And the dialogue could use a helping hand, Braggen was there checking for bodies after he went by the Dawnstar sanctuary in VL form, I thought he might have caused a vampire attack on Dawnstar, but was too busy chasing those perks to stop at the time. So he charges in there ready to kill just in case another one happens, notices a guard missing in front of the The White Hall, next thing the remaining guard yells Vampires! to arms! I look, cannot see any, then the shadow flies over, now that is meant to be Dragon! To Arms! I was confused enough as it was., there was definitely no vampires spawning. They had already been the night before and apparently only got one guard.

Someone said the encounters work on a level based variable system for dragon level tiers. So at level 50 you will have a 0.01% chance of finding a Legendary Dragon, but as you level you will increase that percentage? I'd like to see a comparative list of percentage of finding one. :stare:

EDIT: After reading what I wrote I feel like I'm looking for that elusive Shiny Pidgey.

Someone was wondering around Skyrim as level 50 and killing every single dragon. His 8th dragon-kill was a Legendary.

Well, level 74 now and still haven't met one yet. I raised my difficulty level to see if that would make a difference (now on expert as opposed to master, cuz I don't want Shadowmere dying all the time), but so far it hasn't made a difference. I am, of course, kinda conflicted about the difficulty having any applicable effect, since many of my fellow Skyrim addicts here have stated that it doesn't, while others say that it does. So for now I suppose I'll just try a few different methods, and see what happens...

Difficulty doesn't effect it. All spawns are what they are themselves and will randomly spawn whatever they can, or spawn nothing at all... It isn't like Halo where higher difficulty means stronger and more enemies..
