I don't want to start a gerry springerish face off but.... Shame on you all...did you realise that more than 90% of members have had crushing game non play experience's your lack of regard makes no sence we have payd for a game that dossent offer good saving scrips, it just dosent work
so shame on you for defending a stupid process of sell game then fix problem's
you must be a republican it's always the working classes fault they just have to svck it up it's never the all mighty corporation's fault...right
well i hope you buy a car and there's a serious problem whit it ( not something that kill ya of cours just something that make's the dam thing un usable, let's call that a beta car....
That's because people only post when they have issues, not when they have no issues. You probably are not going to see a person come here and create a new topic that says "Game works for me!" and post something like "I just went out and bought F:NV and have been playing for 25 hours. Game has been flawless and it is $60 well spent"
Plus the number of subscribers here is very small in comparison to the number of owners of the game. Having said that, I have experienced issues with the PC version. Initially there was the auto save steam cloud thing and of course the NPC frame dive. The latter will be addressed in the early next week update but I have been able to smoothly play the game using the .dll workaround discovered by wolfpup. I've had no questing bugs at all although I may have stumbled across one today (in my above post). Other than that every few hours I get a CTD and I've seen a few enemies stuck in rocks/walls. None of these are game-breaking, although the CTD thing really does bother me. Fallout 3 had many users complain of issues too, issues that I never experienced in hours of gameplay until I upgraded to a quad core and it began freezing. By then the game was no longer supported though
The QA/troubleshooting/beta process is difficult for open world games, especially on PCs. Besides all the variables that come with non-linear gameplay you have to factor in all the possible configurations that exist which is something you do not have to do with consoles. In this game's case it was a multi-platform release with all versions released to retail at the same time. The PC sales figures are very low in comparison to the consoles because that is how it is in PCdom. And every single PC game has reported issues upon release, especially open world games. Grand Theft Auto IV PC is still garbage even though they continued to patch it for 2+years. Blizzard has a multitude of posts on their forum from users that have issues with WoW and SC2. Here is an example for Borderlands: http://gbxforums.gearboxsoftware.com/forumdisplay.php?f=93
Their PC support forum has more posts the the two console ones combined and that game has been out for a while. I'm not at all taking a defensive stance, it's just this is what PC gamers have come to expect. Give it a few weeks to iron out all the wrinkles, we understand. Adding to this I just want to also say I suspect a lot of people here are using pirated copies of the game unfortunately which introduce issues of their own. In conclusion, not defending anybody just saying it doesn't bother me enough to post "disgrace!" when I have still managed to enjoy playing the game.
One last thing, people need to stop saying "game-breaking bugs" because there aren't any. "But I can't get past the intro video so I can't even play" well that's your PC. "It corrupts saves" If it corrupted a save once that it not game-breaking. If every save is corrupted then something is probably wrong with your hard drive. "It gets a lot of CTDs" Well agree this one is annoying. But I just re-launch and keep playing.
