Light Armor Smithers can't go around for Daedric

Once you got the Dragon armor perk did it allow you to make both the light and heavy variants of the dragon armor?
I am playing a light armor build but i want to make daedric weapons and don't care that much about the other light armors other than dragon
so i figure i will take the heavy armor side, amusing i will be able to make light dragon armor without the glass perk.

If not, time for a new plan....

Yeah it unlocks both variants(Heavy and Light). Yeah I'm considering doing that too now... I almost gave up going Light Armor but dual wielding with heavy armor looks so silly. I'll still be able to craft myself weapons and upgrade them twice as much so it won't be a total waste.

This is outrageous.

Two solutions come to mind:

1) As mention, take the heavy tree and just use the light dragon armor. If you level smithing quickly, it won't affect gameplay toooo much.

2) Go the light route and just wait until you find daedric weapons. You should still be able to improve them to legendary, correct? If you don't plan on powerleveling smithing, this might be the better option.

Can someone test whether you can upgrade daedric weapons you find if you went with the left side of smithing?

That's bad news another to mod or perhaps it's a bug and it will be patched.
