Limbsplitter for Battle Axes

Post » Fri May 25, 2012 11:01 pm

Since great critical charge is bugged for greatswords at the moment, I decided to switch to battle axes. Has anyone put points into limbsplitter and noticed its damage output? A while back I thought I read something saying that bleed didn't work against most enemies, so I'm curious now.

Also, is Wuuthrad a battle axe?

Maces are just too slow for my liking :(

I could just wait til the patch comes out next week I guess and hope they fix greatswords. I'd still like to hear about someone's experience bleed though.

bleeds dont stack or anything, so if you have a constant attack they only add minimal damage. the swords slo-mo kill cam is the best in this game imo. i use swords on any one-hand char. and two-hand chars its kind of a toss up

Great critical charge is bugged with greatswords! Otherwise I wouldn't even give it a second thought to using them.

I'm really surprised more people don't know about great critical charge being bugged with greatswords. It's pretty much THE perk for 2handers.

Is no one 2handing these days?

Everytime I use great charge with my GreatSword it makes a "ding" noise and it says "critical strike!" in the corner, seems to be working fine....is the damage reduced or glitched?

I havn't tried hammer or axe yet since I am doing perfectly fine at lvl 32. But if this ends up being a problem I'll probably switch the perks via console commands.

BTW 2H is my most fun gamestyle so far in Skyrim :goodjob:

Every time? You sure it's not just your passive crit working sometimes? But yea I notice it working with my axes and hammers, but not with my sword anymore. It may have stopped after leveling up 2handers some...not really sure about the time line.

If it's working consistently for some people then I just got the shaft? @_@

I agree btw, 2H on master will put some hair on your nuts.

Anyone else have insight to this? Do your greatswords work with critical charge everytime? Maybe it's an inconsistent bug, but I know it's been mentioned by other people as well.

Axes are the best, the bleed is very useful. It's especially noticeable in long, drawn-out fights, where the bleed damage can run it's course.

But it's useful for swinging once on weaker enemies to apply the bleed, and moving on. The bleed should mop up any left over health if the enemy is just a small fry.

Cool to hear from someone who got the perk, this may be just what I need since on master certain guys do take quite long to kill.

Does the bleeding dmg depends on the weapon dmg
or is it a certain % hp of the enemy,
or just a certain dmg through a certain time throughout the game?
And could someone throw in some numbers too? I tried to find it in uesp.net but there is nothing there

I play on expert so people take little longer to kill and I ranked up the bleed perk to rank 2 and used it for 10 minutes before I gave up on it. I did not see any damage increase worth taking the perk.

I notice it. It's saved me a few times as well, but it seems like it needs a bit of a boost.

I end up doing half the damage by doing great charge. I was better off just doing regular swing LOL

Does Wuuthrad count as a greataxe? I thought it was a hammer when I made my Orc. So I started using the hammer perks, but then there was no Skyforge hammers, so I changed to greatsword and used console to set my perks there instead.
Then I got Wuuthrad and used console to move the perks to greataxe instead.

I want to know about the armor ignore perk. How many enemies actually have high enough armor for it to do more damage? Do non human enemies like chaurus and Centurions have an armor rating? Thatd be cool since they have hard shells and made of metal.

Also does higher level limbsplitter just increase the damage? And does anyone know if the damage is proportional to your weapon?

Wuuthrad is an battleaxe in game for sure so axe perks should effect it.

I really wish we got my detail when we go to choose a certian perk. I hate getting this undescriptive descriptions of abilties! I want the exact numbers!

Wha? Why do you do half the damage? It's supposed to do double critical damage, as the perk says.

Or is this another bug that I should be yet again annoyed at how the 2hand tree is less and less fun looking due to bugs and ambiguity.
