Look up a thread titled "Falling through the floor in Dark Brotherhood" or something like that. That problem is utterly random and has no actual solution. Chances are the simple act of exiting the game and reloading was enough to solve that. Or it could be that removing that one mod broke your specific combination of Bad Things™ in this case.

This mod is great - finally went to start the Main Quest and it took me a bit to actually figure everything out. My only recommendation would be to add a few more quest markers/objectives to the main quest area around Helgen.

btw, in your load order:

adventurersandtravelers.esp

There's a thread about this over on Nexus. It's a confirmed source of massive save game bloating. You might want to think about getting rid of it. Be sure you strip all of its scripts out when you do.

Yep the exit and restart has fixed it on many occasions. At Helgen it wasnt working but I now have the MQ rolling though

Version 1.4.3

* Typo - it should be a "Burned Corpse".
* Fixed a bug in the friendly fire script that allowed the Four Skull Lookout bandit start to be exploited.
* The bandit start location at Faldar's Tooth has been relocated to Nilheim to avoid complications from the interor portion of the hideout. This will change your allegiance to Nilheim if you started at Faldar's Tooth.
* The trigger boxes that control the bandit/vampire friendly faction stuff have been fixed to use the proper actor detection method.
* Removed several abandoned script properties from the Live Another Life quest.
* Blocked off access to the torture room in Helgen for non-vanilla starts.

Please note that none of the following changes will not matter if you've already begun a game with this installed. These changes only affect newly started characters.

* Moved the 3rd person lockout to the initial stage of the quest so it can't be invoked during script lag following the race menu. (NO, I will NOT remove this feature.)
* Cleaned up vanilla NPC handling in the scripting prior to the scenario start by switching their static properties over to quest aliases. Static properties eat memory long term. Quest aliases purge once the quest is done. My small part to helping keep Skyrim memory use under control.

I can't make a new character without this mod. I just wish there were more possible locations for getting ambushed and left for dead. I like a surprise :biggrin:

Hi, ive been playing with this mod and its absolutely fantastic. I installed it using the nexus mod manager, and im at about level 20. Decided I wanted to start the main quest so off i trot. I uninstalled the mod out of NMM, reinstalled your newest version and now when i activate the corpse it triggers alduin but also triggers character creation and asks me to pick a background story. have i messed it up by not updating the mod properly?? is there any console command or any other way of forcing the main quest to start. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Use this command: setstage MQ102 10

Then go talk to the jarl of whiterun.

If you still have the save game from where this happened, could you link it for me somewhere? The script on that corpse doesn't reference MQ101 at all so it should be impossible for it to have called for that. I can't replicate it on my end, corpse works as expected no matter who grabs it.

Also, people, can we please refrain from advising use of the console? It may seem harmless enough, but jumping stages like that can lead to just as many problems down the road as a script that's not behaving itself.

lol sorry. Well i just clicked ok through the character creation, leaving everything as i had chosen in the first place, and then when I named my character (entering the same name), it didnt reset any of my stats/skills. I plodded on whilst everything seemed ok and now im stood outside high hrothgar ready to speak to the greybeards. Just a small blip it seems. I dont have the save file from that specific event anymore as iv played about 4 hours since. I can still send you my savefile if you wish but as far as I can tell everything is fine. must have been something i bodged up when updating? :confused: :cool:

Posting this for my brother he recently updated the mods http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=10906, http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=8333 and http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=14351 to the latest version and since then gets these following errors in papyrus.log from Live Another Life. We realize these errors are not there normally and thus must be from a "faulty" script elsewhere, but as we're not sure how to look for it, posting here in hope you can give us a clue atleast on where to start. :smile: Should note that I also updated the same mods without getting these issues. The log is from when trying to start a new save, which simply won't work (game will crash with this log):

15xxxx is Chesko Frostfall, am using same version as him with no problems together with live another life so should not be that one causing any issues

We tried uninstalling and reinstalling Live Another LIfe to make sure nothing had gone missing, issue still persists. Same thing with resetting Skyrim's ini-files. Help would be greatly appreciated (if at all possible ofcourse!)

Issue solved. He was stupid when installing the Skyrim Sewers hotfix and used both .esp and .esm versions, which apparently led to LAL spouting out errors. :)

Good thing you figured all that out because that looks pretty nasty. All that was causes by overlapping a mod with itself?

Yeah, the main Skyrim Sewers download comes with an .esp which obviously has the normal navmesh bugs. He also has an optional download for an .esm version to be used instead of the .esp, and my brother had installed both when updating from 3.0 to 3.01 without noticing. :)

* For DB starts, Grelod the Kind was not killed as she should have been.
* The block added to keep people out of the torture room was not properly disabled for Helgen starts.
* Made it possible to warn Riverwood about the dragon if the player ignores Hadvar and Ralof, or doesn't completely follow through on rescuing one of them.

Browsing around and thought I would stop by to show support. I cannot play a game without this mod. I am like the earlier poster that requested random starts for the "Left for Dead" option. I heavily RP characters in the Skyrim Dead is Dead Thread and THAT start is a fav.

Just throw in about 10 different possible "random" locations. Ha! just kidding about 10...I meant 20.

As for other options...The sky's the limit. There can never be enough. Still, brilliant stuff and keep it up.

Arthmoor any chance you could PM me the exact location of the burned corpse, I've chosen the DB start and I'm hunting around Helgen and have found 4 corpses none of which are yours, on top of that I haven't seen Alduin fly past so just wonna be sure all is actually working seen as the readme said if ya don't see him something could be wrong.

Hey Arthmoor,

The new version seems to be working fantastic! I have a request though, which will hopefully not be too difficult.

I've decided to play as a vampire this time around, however, I don't like my character starting in some dank cave. Would it be possible to add an option on the existing altar/add another altar in the character creation room that turns you into a vampire there? Thus allowing you to select any of the pre-existing starts as a Vampire.

I don't think that would really be practical in a lot of cases.The vampire start is also as much about living where they live as it is about simply being one.
