I love beating dead horses

For starter I have never posted on a gaming message board before.

But the this game "svcks" topic has been brought up but I just want to add to it.

And for fanboys who wanna bash or talk sheet.

I don't live in my moms basemant. (Bought a condo in jersey when I was 21)

I have a life (Just got back jigging bluefin tuna trying to keep them out of the mouths of Killer Whales.....GOOGLE IT WE HAVE HUGE PODS OF KILLER WHALES 30 MILES EAST OF HATTERAS N. CAROLINA)

I had a girlfriend ( Just dumped her..fishing season is starting)
and I have a Job (I own a custom home theater and home automation company)

To give a quick backround this is what I am playin on.

65" panasonic plasma (eff edge lit or local dimming lcd sets)
Mirage omd28 and matching center and satellites
ymaha rxa 3000 reciever (used as a pre amp only)
lexicon lx7 7channel amplifier bi amped the front speakers.
Velodyne Overture sub (it weighs 120lbs)
Verizon Fios 35.2 D 25.6 U Hard wired (modem is 2 feet away from console

So I have the latest and greatest rig within reason. My old setup sounded better but I sacrificed some 2 channel listeing pleasure for aethetics and a boost in image processing power.

So I played the beta/demo of this game and thought it would be the greatest new game to hit in a long time. Nothing beat cloaking running up on someone sliding and bucking them with the shotty. And dipping out before they knew what happened. It felt like a perfect mix of gears1 and MW2.

So when the retail game came out I was itching to play it. But after being burned by games like gears 2 (horrific compared to the first one) and massively over hyped Black cops ( Worst game of all time ) I had to wait 2 days for it to come in the mail from gamefly.

So once I finally got it in and fired it up I was looking forward to getting amped up with the viceral symphony that the beta supplied. But alas I was greeted to massive amounts of clipping as if I were listening to the New York Philharmonic Orchestra backed by 20 people playing the kazoo. I freaked out and thought there was something wrong with my 6000$ amplifier or possibly my front right 3000$ dollar speaker. Switching back to a cable broadcast told me immidiately it was the game.

So I dealt with that. Fired up a multiplayer game right off rip with one of my friends who said they fixed the lag issues from the beta. Well the first game I played there was so much lag if someone jumped off a green house it would show the animation 3 times (and it only happened when they jumped. 0 kills and 5 deaths later the migrating host screen came up I waited 30 seconds and the game ended.

So finally after a few failed attmepts in finding a second game I start running around aimlessly not knowing the map. I come up behind someone. whose running in a str8 line away from me. And I start unloading into his back (hard aimed) by the time he finally died i only had 22 rounds left in the clip (after hearing god knows how many hit markers) I figured Ok. Maybe it was lag. So i hit the back button and What?? I had 4 bars??? I said to my friend Man this is gonna svck, It just took half a clip to kill someone on my host.

Later that game I saw someone who was running away from me same as my first kill. I took aim. And right before I pulled the trigger. He cloaked. Or I should say completely disappeared. I was like WTF where the hell did he go. So i Max armored turned the corner figuring thats where he had to have gone. Saw nothing. Then bang all of a sudding he starts lighting me up from 20' in front of me.

Does the cloak really make you that invisible. I mean even on the best TV on the market (trust me plasma smokes any and all LCD's even boutique brands like NuVIsion (10,000$) check my review on AVS forums) I couldn't even see him. And after playing for awhile now LVL 15 I find that it really takes the fun out of the game. All people do is hide in cloak and when they see someone armor lock and just blast em to hell. And since there are such long sight corridors. There is no such thing as respawning and running to get into the action. You have to cloak. And walk as to not get sniped. Then uncloak and wait for the energy to refill. Seems like a lot of effort to me just to get from Point A to point B. And god forbid you shoot while cloaked by by sheilds.

Why did they get rid of the geiger counterish beeping of the proximity alarm. It wasn't overpowered as you still had no idea where they were coming from. But this version just makes a horrid broken guitar string sound. And when it goes off it is usually followed by a broken animation of me getting knifed in the neck.

Kill cams are a joke. Same as in the beta. If you get assasinated it still sound like an entire army is unloading on you. When there was never a shot fired.

The headshot bullet cam could have been cool. But lest be honest. A the sound of the bullet hitting you sounds lame. And the animation is in simplest terms BAD.

The graphics are horrible it looks like I'm looking through scratched sunglasses. I find i can only play a few games at a time before my eyes are bloodshot and hurting. Pop in Modern Warfare 2 after playing Crysis 2 and you'll see. Its not an opinion its clear from the moment you jump in a game. There may be tons of "things" and "stuff" all over the place. But definition detail and polish, don't exist. And there is no depth. And thats stationary, start running around and it gets worse as you move.

The game is so jittery and animations so non fluid. It makes climbing walls, ripping off turrets and meleeing disorienting. Once again pop in MW2 to compare.

The weapons so far don't impress. The Grendel it seems doesn't shoot after i get shot at least there is no sound of me firing and it doesn't . And with the game being so choppy tracking a running enemy is difficult at best. The pistols are pointless.

Has anyone ever power kicked a car. I mean c'mon really. It glitches all over the place. Or in a few instance goes right through the enemy player leaving me a sitting duck. Whats the point.

Why is it when i throw a grenade it ALWAYS shows me throwing two.

In all other modern shooters. I have my sensitivity set pretty low. As I'll sacrifice speed for precision. But with this game I have to have it turned to 70 just to have a chance. And with all the lag there really is no such thing as precision.

The sound effects svck, plain and simple. They are bland with no impact. Just like in All the halo games and especially black ops. There is no way in this game that you can locate someone by listening for their footsteps or their gunfire. The only game to date that does audio right is MW2. Thats the standard in which all games should be measured. Hit markers are clear and precise. Headshots make that satisfying "Tink" althought the gears one headshot is second to none. In a team tactical s&d game. If I'm the last alive. You better have ninja pro on. Nuff said. Even those over priced goofy multichannel headphones work a little bit in COD. But with their 10 cent drivers that are spaced half an inch apart they provide no channel separation. So in games like this they might as well just be five or seven shannel stereo. Cmon crytek If i put the perk on that makes me silent, ones who don't should pay a price(I shouldn't have to put on a proximity alarm) Sound is just as important to a game as its visuals. This game falls flat in every aspect of audio performance. I can honestly say in terms of audio quality, sound effects and immersion it is the worst I've come accross. And the first game dating back to my first game ever "Black Caldren" on a Tandy 1000 that had built in Distortion.

Why did they nerf the shotgun. They upped its fire rate but made it weak as hell.

The rag doll effect when you get killed is truly laughable.

What was the point of having two stage beta for over a month if absolutely none of the problems in the beta were addressed in the retail release.

P.s. I'm not a fanboy of MW2. I've read that people say the entire game svcks because of noob toobers at4's and quick scopers (I still cant figure out how to do that. LOL)but if thats the only thing wrong with it I'm good. Like any game there are things wrong with it. But it seems that the new trend is get the game out the door, recoup some capital, and then spend as few man hours ($$) to get the game that hundreds of thousands are forced to play because its the hot title (although still broken) and everyone on their friends list is playing to a quasi acceptable level. And then push DLC to make even more mooola (you know who you are TREYARCH)

Crytek don't do this

Did you just say MW2 is even comparable to Crysis graphically? You sir, fail. You say your TV is 6000 bucks, I say its from the bargain bin from goodwill.

No its not. It is the most highly regulated and monitored fish that swims our oceans. But the populations are stable. Not sure if I've ever heard of southern bluefin tuna. But I assure you They are not endangered. There are conservation groups that stand to benefit by putting them on "CITES" list. But there are thousands of threads totalling close to a million responses on that subject. But I assure you they are not endangered. Well maybe now that they actually have a predator other than man things may change.

No I never said I own a 6000$ tv. I have a very high end amplifier. But my tv was about 3700 (retail)

And yes. The visuals of Crysis 2 do not come close to the fluidity and clarity of MW2. It is so obvious. If your playing on a 32" tv it may look good. But on a large display. It does not.

I'm not saying it looks crappy because I don't like crytek or ea. I'm just calling it like I see it.

I'm not sure of your age, and if your old enough to have gone shopping for a tv. But I'll learn you somethin. Lcd will never have an image as accurate or vibrant of that of plasma. Pioneer made the best TV ever made in their KURO line. But they got out of the panel manufacturing business. Panasonic bought the facility in I believe minnisota. And they now use their panels in their pro line. The tv I own was released about a month ago. ANd you won't find them in BEST BUY. ONly the smaller chains will carry them.

When you have to squint to see someone on a 65" there is something wrong with the game.

That was mature and a well thought out response! The gameplay of crysis 2 is so fresh and strategic, but anyone who can't see how unfinished and crappy some aspects of multiplayer are is truley blind or to dumb to notice. Crytec figured graphics would win are respect. NO! a decent FOV, simi solid connections, and a stable frame rate of 60 like COD. Smooth gameplay trumps graphics any day.

Then how you see it is wrong.

You're saying Modern Warfare 2 360: http://images.eurogamer.net/assets/articles//a/8/3/8/5/7/7/Bloom_01_360.jpg.jpg
Looks better than Crysis 2 360: http://images.eurogamer.net/assets/articles//a/1/3/4/3/4/7/1/360_013.jpg.jpg

MW2: http://images.eurogamer.net/assets/articles//a/8/3/9/5/4/7/MW2_360_007.jpg.jpg
Crysis2: http://images.eurogamer.net/assets/articles//a/1/3/4/3/4/7/1/360_018.jpg.jpg

Modern Warfare 2 may run at a higher overall frame rate. But Crysis 2 is still graphically superior game to Modern Warfare 2. In terms of Graphic Fidelity Crysis 2 beats Modern Warfare 2. This is not an opinion. It is fact.

Now, if you do not like the graphic design or art direction of Crysis 2, then that is different, and totally fair. As design can beat out pure graphical detail. Evidence of this would be in how GiantBomb.com gave their 'Best Graphics of 2010' award to Kirby's Epic Yarn. This is a Wii title.

tl;dr just by the way you described your whole setup you sound like a very pretentious person.

If your comparing Cod Graphics to Crysis graphics, you fail.
if your comparing cod gameplay to crysis gameplay, you fail.
if your comparing cod to crysis, you fail.

i have a 65" panasonic plasma tv and a HT express pro 7.1 home theater system, and i can see, and hear the game just fine.

the game is not perfect, games rarely are (i will agree with you on the fact that gears1 is an amazing game however) give them time to do patchs and fixes and try again.

lol you only got that from him writting about his setup?

Seriously though, this game is great, it hasn't lived up to people's expectations but it's still more enjoyable than MW2 and Black Ops. And it looks far better than MW2/Blackops! Halo Reach looks better than MW2! Blackops still uses the same engine they used for the past 5 years.

Crytek don't do this

to sum it up: Arsehole

I love the game and i hope Crytek solve all the problems before people run away from it and let the multiplayer die.

The game has some sound issues on the singleplayer campaign. I′ve encountered the same repetitive sound from middle of campaign till the end. It was wrecking my nerves, it was a sound glitch and there was nothing i can do about it. Also, on the multiplayer loading map screen, sometimes you get the frontend music playing way loud and with distortion - and believe me it has nothing to do with my setup - even if you set the music volume on 30 out of 100, on that particular track the sound is horrific.

My biggest grip with this game is lag. I′ve been playing FPS for a long time now, i′m no pro but on the black ops i′ve reached prestige 9 and never once i′ve experienced lag like this. When i go online i get 1 bar, 2 tops when compared to the host - guess what? i′m completely murdered out there. I chase a guy and empty a full clip on his back ... he turns ... one shot ... i′m dead. That′s frustrating! I try and make my friends stick to the game telling them how good it is even having all this issues. When i create a private room full of friends everything is rock solid, no lag, smooth and hit detection works wonders.

Crytek, the LAG on this game is really bad, and i will say just this 20% of my friend list got this game, and after 3 days only 2 of them still play it ... reason ... laggy multiplayer wrecks all the fun. If you want to keep it alive solve it as fast as you′re able. I remember how good it was Op. Flashpoint Dragon Rising online ... if it had no lag, but no

Oh hey someone with a brain. Finally someone that actually pays attention to the minor flaws which can be gamebreaking. The only thing I don't agree with are the graphics of Crysis 2, personally I think they look fantastic. I can understand the crisp look of CoD compared to the grainy feel of Crysis 2, but I think that is more of a personal preference. But ya I was extremely excited for this game ever since I first heard about it being released on consoles. Boy was I let down, at least Battlefield 3 is on it's way to save the day.

OP:

"Hey guys I'm gonna come on here acting all big and bad and quoting a load of random hi-tech visual and audio systems that I don't actually have". No, just no.

Truth is: Well done, you don't like the game (your OPINION), and you think MW2 is better (Ok?). That doesn't mean that the game is rubbish in itself. I like it, lots of other people like it. So, get your pretentious self of this forum and stop QQing about stuff that doesn't fit with your imaginary gaming tech...

This is the REAL overview of your life and Crysis 2 experience

1. You are a greasy kid trolling the forums looking for a sense of belonging.

2. You still with your parents, who think you need to get out more (bluefin tuna fishing doesn't count because I know fish smell but B***S**T stinks a mile away.

3. This 'rig' you keep going on about is completely farcicle or you are merely getting ripped off by the shops you bought them because you parents want to spoil you so that you get out of the cave you call your room

3. I haven't gotten chance to play the game but I have played the beta and I can tell you that the graphic AND multiplayer are much better than MW2.
MW2 is full of sweaty 10-year olds sitting in their own filth trying to make it big on YouTube, the graphics look like they've been designed by a 5 year old.
Crysis on the other hand may have had connection issues on the beta but the viewpoint I get from the forums are that this has been fixed. The graphics look

tl; but did read....... I agree that you're an arrogant arsehole.

My setup cost nowhere near as much as that and Crysis 2 looks **** great to me. Sure it has bugs on release, some major ones, but all games these days do and get patched. HALO Reach has been modded a few times by 343 or Bungie since it's release, if youlook around here, Crytek is listening to players and are attempting to make a patch to fix the issue.

For me I would of just said, hey I got a good TV and audio setup and am not happy with the Crysis experience I was expecting. Comparing Reach and Crysis to MW2 is stupid, all the games are totally different in terms of style and play. And well a few million halo players can't be wrong.

My answer to your problem? go play **** MW2. You took a chance on a game and didn't like it... big friggin woop, happens to all of us.
As it is going into such detail about yourself you just come off as being a trolling douche. ( I dumped my girlfriend, lmfao yeah right, think you got that one backwards......)

I think your 0 kill 5 deaths is just from being a fail at playing games, the most expensive system on the planet cannot improve bad skills :P

My gaming experience is pretty small compared to most of you guys. Even though, the years taught me a valuable lesson. Few are the games that come out crispy clean of bugs. The only occasion you'll get one of those is usually through a GOTY edition or a few months after the initial patches come out, given the exceptions of course. We are the biggest testbed any studio has, 'cos we get ourselves in situations that the devs rarely think and we push the boundaries of the game. I'm not taking the moral high ground here or taking the studio's side. They're to blame for hyping their stuff to the max, promising this world and the next on a small package. But we should already be vaccinated against this; it's not a virgin situation. So as long as we long for these games to come out and get our hands on them right outta the oven, we can get disappointed. It's a risk. But the purchase is also a risk. So instead of coming here and comparing games and setups and **** like that, how old are you and how much money do you have (which doesn't amount to a flying **** at the end of the day...) let's just keep it straight to the point. What's wrong? This and that. Will you fix it? Yes, no, maybe. I realize that sometimes games are rushed and premature, but the point we miss is this: we still rule the market, we are the final and the strongest link in the chain. We buy their stuff. That's what we must remind the game studios of.

And we must also remember ourselves that we buy because we want.

Have fun, hope to see some of you guys online in a couple of days.

You seem to have an extreme case of b*tching. May I recommend a high dose of man the f*** up?

And then push DLC to make even more mooola (you know who you are TREYARCH)

You're an idiot. You're saying Treyarch is the only one who does this? Infinity Ward did the same thing, but yet you say nothing about that. Bethesda made several DLC offerings for Fallout 3. Why didn't you say Bethesda was pushing more DLC to make even more "moola"?

You seem to be pushing the blame towards a developer when you have no idea who it is that is to blame for your incessant whining.

What the hell do you think being in the gaming business is about? Making money. Herp derp.

Treyarch doesn't decide when and how many DLC's are put out to be sold. You can blame Activision for that. It was the same deal with Infinity Ward. You should probably research what you're arguing about before you come to a forum and make yourself look like an arsehole and an idiot.
