i love the rift

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 6:06 pm

its such a beautiful place! its high up away from the harsh weathers of skyrim and contains such a beautiful amount of trees!

its little a little peice of cyrodil in skyrim, some days i just like to get out my hunting gear with my dog and go hunt for dear. it really is such a remarkable place!

riften is meh imo but outside of it is lovely, the lush green and orange forest, the little towns and farms dotted around...

dont want to sound like a broken record but it truely reminds me of cyrodil! <3

you guys have any favourite areas that you admire?

im in such a mellow mood today! :twirl:

i would apreciate the reach more if it wasnt for this ugly foresworn dotted around ?_?

although i admire the scenery itself, it really reminds me of the lord of the rings. the fog everywhere from the clouds give it a lovely look too

I think I've spend most of my time in Skyrim around the rift - it's usually my base of operations. Next playthrough I'm going to set up around Markraeth though, as I think I actually prefer the landscape at that end of the map - a bit harsher than the rift.

do you mean falkreath? lol

hm, i had a base of operations myself but it was always solitude because of strategic position and is the centre of the empire's affairs. lovely scenery but the grubby marshlands ruin it :(

I really wish I didnt have to kill the foresworn, I liked them more than either stormcloaks or imperials, and they had the perfect opening to a forsworn questlline, I was disapointed.

nah, the foresworn to me are just stormcloaks fighting for what was originally theirs from what i can see.
but i agree however that they should have a quest line. i also think that there should have been questlines for the thalmor and the penitus oculatus.

I love the beauty of The Reach, particularly the waterfalls and rivers. The only problem with The Reach is that it is nearly impossible to travel as the crow flies anywhere due to all the steep cliffs everywhere.

if you remember from the fellowship of the ring before they enter the mines of moria, there were mountains towering above them and fog, the reach seriously reminded me of that.

The Rift. For some reason I rarely find myself there, I'm usually to the west killing those piece of [censored] Foresworn, or up north exploring mountains, but whenever I accidentally stumble into the Rift it's so peaceful, even for a game.

I'm rather fond of The Pale.

I'm running a Khajiit Warrior (2H, Heavy Armor) and am RP'ing him as an Arctic hunter/warrior type. I love the snow animations, and there's a clean, serene beauty about all of that unbroken expanse of snow. Enemies and locations are few and far between, so it really has that isolationist type of feel. The mountains in the south hold a myriad of crypts, ruin, and caves for him to explore, and then there's the crypts that stand in solitary stoicism out on the snow covered flatlands.

i just love exploring The Pale.

Where's the place with the geysers and giant camps around? Wherever that is, it's just beautiful. The Rift is also pretty

i can't thank bethesda enough for giving skyrim a range of different climated areas.

before skyrim came out i was dreading the thought of the whole place just being mountains and snow thats it. but now we have such a variety, i am so happy :)

I don't quite like the Rift. The city is the only one I really hate, and the forests are somehow crowded with spiders.

For me it's Whiterun! The beautiful Valtheim Towers. Riverwood. Giants. Giants!

Oh mighty tundrastrider!
How you and your mighty tusked beast silhouette against the great orange expanse.
Thundering footsteps herald your herd. Man and beast blazing trail together.
One in nature, each relying upon the other, more than just man and beast, but equals who need one another to survive.
How I long to run across the tundra in their mighty wake.
That would truly be my greatest honor.
The morning would be spent gathering dyes to paint our mammoths and then carve the fiercest images into their tusks.
Then it would be time for the skeever hunt. Our clubs would rain down upon the rat pests smashing the life out of them.
In the evening could sit around the campfire and I would regale those nearby with songs of their majesty and grace.
They would let me sample of the mammoth's cheese. A food so foul yet with healing properties so great.
We'd snack on the roasted skeever we'd freshly caught that day before laying under the stars to sleep.
I'd slowly fade to dream nested in the radiating heat of mammoth fur. Its cold resisting properties keeping me snug.
What a grand time we would have.
