What, they're a "joke" because they were breached by a group who are capable of hacking the [censored] CIA, and numerous government sites?

Bethesda! i had so much bad experiences with your games, with your customer support, with everything around you, im not surprised that you had intruders for months in your network and you not noticed till they got back to you.
You better hire more and better employes or theres no future in gaming buisness for you.

no, because their bloody captcha doesn't even work. and yes, its noobish to get hacked like they have, especially after the whole PSN cockup

They locked down personal data, it's just a password.

If you use the same password for important stuff as you do for online stats sites and forums then Bethesda really isn't to blame.

i know what you mean, but now many passwords do you have to remember on a weekly basis. if all of mine were different i would have around 100. i cant even remember my mobile phone number!

...what the hell is wrong with you? How is it 'noobish' to get hacked? Are you an expert in the field? Do you know exactly how to counter a hack attempt? I don't think you do.

Notice it was hacking attempts. Guess our engineers were able to take down the hack boxes, plant 9 thousand mines, and a few turrets for good measure. Lulz Sec must have been trying to hack on Reactor. It is possible but tough as nails.

Yeesh, the console might be cheaper up-front but those yearly prices are STEEP. Especially if that's US$, considering we get insane mark-up on top of currency conversion down this side of the globe.
Sure it ends up being a bit more expensive, but a lot of the games I own that I play online, I haven't really had to pay for much. $20 for everything relating to Red Dead Redemption, and that is including a whole new, 5 hour gameplay in storymode, as well as 2 DLC that was originally priced at 800 each. And the only time I ever had to pay for a DLC for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (that was adding to online play) was 800 points and that was only because they bundled it with single player add-ons. Other than that, they have had 3 FREE DLC. The reason why I don't mind paying yearly is because the service is great and I usually don't have to worry about lag. And when I worry about lag, it's generally coming from my connection. ITs a reliable system. Only RRoD'ed once and I've had since it's been out.

EDIt: Forgot I had a question. I just got an email saying the passwords were reset, by the team mind you not me, and saying I should get a new password, claiming it was "maintenance" protocol. Anyone else get this? Or should I just ignore it?

It might be a worthwhile investment if my connection was any good... maybe someday if I move somewhere where I can download fatser than 35kB/s then I'll consider xBox live, but as it stands I'd be paying a lot of money on something that's poor-quality me end. >_>

And I got that email too, I might wait for an official announcement or verification.

CNN reported today that these pencil-d*cks hacked the pentagon; pentagon officials said they only had access to directory files, however an outside expert said they could have run programs on the server and really messed things up.

I'm glad they hacked the pentagon and here's why: now maybe perhaps someone will find these nerds, pay a visit to their parents' houses, knock on the door, ask the 65 year old woman who answers if Poindexter is home, then when Poindexter comes up from the basemant and gets his eyes adjusted to the sunlight, the government official buries his face gums deep in the curb and hauls him off to jail. 4 months later Poindexter is in the Federal Penitentiary (assuming hacking the pentagon is a federal offense) and his little rusty sheriff's badge is violated daily in the prison shower. That, my friends is when the REAL "LULZ" shall be had by all.

actually there is a little area that lets it be really easy. i will keep that one to myself though. once you get the box on you are generally ok. just have a look around if you dont know what i mean.

ypur numbers are way off. 7 bux a month for live any where from 39 to 60 bux a year( been on xbox live for 4 years and have never paid more than 39 per year.). 800 ms points is 10 bux. 1400 is$ 20. 19.99 for 3 months.

I know this is a bit off topic, but I had to correct this dude for correcting somone else. Actually, his prices were pretty damn close, you can tell he figured in tax, and he said he rounded up a bit, and even with rounding his numbers are still closer than yours are, so no, you are the one who is wrong, trust me I've been on xbox live for over six years and I can tell when my bills go up, which they have.

Thank you very much for supporting me. In Canada that damn HST hasn’t helped me out at all. God I hope they rid of this tax.

I don't know why people are making such a big deal of these lulzsec intrusions anymore, they're pretty much goanna get around to ever major gaming company by the time they are done. People just need to be more careful with what they put on sites and not give away anything that they wouldn't want someone to know. Keep separate passwords for buisness and personal sites.

What does boggle me is there are still people that are defending lulzsec like they are doing something for them, or for the good of gaming. They could just have easily broken into the sites and put some hilarious stuff up to show they COULD get in but not actually steal anything. They could have also not taken peoples info and posted it up for anyone to use for identity theft. They clearly are doing it to show their own hacking skills without any regard for the company's or the people they are hurting with these attacks, but they choose to steal and post personal info on thousands upon thousands of people. If you wanted to show you could assassinate the american president so that the secret service would plug the holes in their ship, you wouldn't harm the president to get the point across, just the fact someone got close enough to do it would scare them into tightening security. What they are doing is terrorizing people to show that the companies aren't able to stop cyber terrorism, so what are they protecting us from? In all honesty we need to be protected more from them than anyone else.

Wow dude, no, I was saying that YOU are wrong, and that the other guy was right, xbox live is overpriced and not as cheap as you think it is. You said it's only "39 bux" for 12 months, when in actuality it is $59.99. I want it to be clear that I am not trying to start an argument, just you said his prices were way off, which they weren't, then presented your own, which were in fact off. I don't know if it is different prices in Canada, both those are the prices in the states.

But I was the one who said it is 60.00$ for 12 months. Read  , because it was me who said the prices with tax and I rounded them up. So no YOU have us mixed up read over the damn names of the people who make posts next time before you try and deny who did what….

Wow, you're right, but give me a break, I did read the post and I was trying to respond to the other guy, I just got the names mixed up because you were quoting each other. Like no one has ever slipped up a little.

Web Development doesn't necessarily have anything to do with hacking. And if you DID know something about hacking, then you'd know that an experienced hacker can hack almost anything. Nothing is completely hack proof, only hack retardant. Also, I'm really getting ticked off because every single forum I go to, you're somewhere in there whining. Every single post I've seen from you has just been complaining and whining, instead of actually contributing anything useful.
