Lydia got herself Arrested?

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 12:46 am

So me and my bestest bro (sis) Lydia were running around the countryside kicking rear ends and taking names, as you do, when it came time to return to Whiterun to offload all my loot. I did the standard go-to-Dragonsreach-to-disenchant-new-stuff thing and, while there, I bought Breezeholme. Avenicci was on the top floor so I figured I'd just jump off the balcony to get back down. Lydia obviously didn't follow. She didn't show up while I went to sell stuff to Belethor/Adrianne, she didn't show up when I left Whiterun. She didn't show up in all the time it too me to run to Sunderstone Gorge, clearing 2 caves in the process.

At this point I became concerned. Lydia does have a habit of getting terribly lost some times, but I'd been careful to stick to roads for her and everything. No sign. I started to fear she might be dead. Time to fire up the console. I save my game then moveto her using the console and find myself in a Whiterun jail cell, with a sheepish Lydia and a dead, naked bandit. I don't even want to know what she was up to, though come to think of it I don't think anything can be worse than the mental image I have concocted.

I, myself, had committed no crimes and done nothing to make Lydia throw caution to the wind. Anyone else had an instance of their follower going off the reservation and getting themselves arrested? I didn't think it was possible.

Maybe she got stuck on a stair and was arrested for loittering? Then got into a fight with her cellmate after he made a comment about "carrying her burdens" and she killed him. :whistling:

The only answer is to give her a black soul gem, a sword with soul trap and paralysis, and making her mad.

You need not think afterwards.

Lydia is afraid of heights. She`ll never jump down when she can run the longest possible way round. She would prefer to get terribly lost rather than get 2 inches off the earth.

Lollygagging is a crime against Skyrim and her peoples!

And in this case that longest route involved a pub, a bandit, a game of naked chicken, 10 septims and an arrest for 'public disturbance'? (That's my version of events anyway).

That's dedication!

it's funny that all the npc's dont share the same pathfinding code. i've seen vilkas or farkas (don't remember) jump down from a ten foot ledge on our way somewhere but lydia wont step over a rock to follow u.

Same, I personally like Jenassa, she seems to move around things a bit better. When I walk up a slight hill or over a rock she follows rather than running down the road, to the fork, and back up the other road to meet up with me.

I had Fandael (sp?) do this while he was a follower. He jumped down two ledges then did a front roll. Was kinda cool.

I have had Lydia jump down ledges after me. Sometimes I jump down, pace forward a few steps and turn and watch. Lydia will look at the path back, look at the jump and just do it. She has jumped off cliffs inside caves into ponds after me. Now that was a freak out as she hit the water behind me.

I like Lydia, she has the second best weapons and likely THE best armor in my game. (I am a light armor freak, Lydia has the tank armor).

lmao

I think technically the nekkid arrested bandit somehow aggroed her while in the jail.. as far as game technicality is concerned. Bandit may or may not have been stripped at time of said aggroing :P Prolly got looted by guards though? eh, weird

I will never ever think to wait for Lydia without using the select button.

Once I told her to move maybe 30 feet away from me and she goes into some random direction rather than hop down the maybe 2 inch steep in front of me. I decided to wait and see how long it took for her to come to her senses and go where I designated.

5 or so minutes later she finally showed up where I wanted her with that vacant trollface look she has. She had apparently gone so far south to get around, that I half expected her to be followed and to hear "STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM!" for having her tresspass into Cyrodil.

she stole a sweetroll. In skyrim, sweetrolls are worth more than the jarl's precious diamond sword

before she did this she stole a goat
she attempted to marry said goat
borrowed a wedding ring
trashed a shrine
and forgot it completely
