LYDIA!

Nope, that is just gonna help you retrieve an NPC that was actually your companion at one point or other.

Cool, thanks

She's a badass <3
Can you marry her? How do you marry anyone btw?

Yep you can! Just head to theTemple of Mara in Riften and speak to the priest for more info. I don't want to give out more details lest I cross into the zone of spoilers

In the strategy guide it says companions will die if you hit them while they have low health, but enemies wont kill them.

Yeah, I'm not sure if that's exactly true. I've had two companions die and it wasn't by my hand.

It's somewhat true. Enemies won't attack someone when they're down. However, if your positioning is poor and they happen to hit them by accident, they'll still die. So in other words, don't use a downed companion as a shield for a Giant's swing.

I know where my Lydia is dead in the bottom of a dungeon. Is she supposed to be able to die?

I hit her with my fire shout once while she was downed on accident and killed her... I ended up reloading because she's been with me for the past 30+ hours now!

Lydia died in my game. She was fighting a Dwarven Centurion whom I ran from, but she wouldn't follow me. She ended up dying somehow. I know for sure it wasn't from friendly fire because I wasn't even fighting at the time.

I was in the Hall of Attainment in the College with Lydia and Arcano was in the room. I decided to send Lydia back home and dismissed her. As soon as she was released she pulled out her sword and attacked Arcano. He roasted her, but didn't kill her. No idea what that was all about.

Lydia can die? I tried to attack two giants, and while I sat back snipin em, she kept getting like knocked out or something, then getting back up and getting knocked out again...

Yeah. She's dead in my game, along with another companion I had. I has a awesome mage companion who went through the whole main quest with me, and shortly died after it. May his soul rest in peace. Lydia? She was a [censored] I'm glad she's dead.

Funny story about Lydia in my game: I killed her. I thought she was taking up space in my house and that was why my husband wouldn't move in. I had her attack a guard, and when her health was low, I walked up behind her and put an arrow in her back. It was out of love... for my husband, who I wanted to live with me instead. Of course now my husband still won't live in my house for some reason.

My Lydia died. Killed by Imperials, just regular imperial soldiers. She was surrounded and I saw her yielding but I had to run away because one of the NPC's was unkillable (kept yielding, then reviving himself and re-attacking me). I waited for her for 12 hours, figured she was dead. Decided to just roll with it and not re-load.

Weeks later in game time I buy the house in Whiterun, go upstairs, and there is her corpse in the guest room will all of the gear she was carrying when she died.

9 out of 10 times when lydia died for me it turned out i accidenlty hit her with my 2handed sword or a arrow while she was down on her knee's lol.
this happens allot because im standing infront of lydia, and behind lydia is the enemy. i try a stand swing on the enemy but instead of hitting the enemy i slash downwards on lydia :P

another way she could die is 2 enemy's attacking her at the same time, or 1 enemy + her standing on a firetrap lol.
edit: oh or a mage casting projectiles at me while lydia is down infront of me blocking the passageway :P

I have a question, hopefully someone can answer. Ive had Lydia for some time, gave her some item upgrades as well. Now i wish to switch to another companion, and maybe another one after that, just to test things out.
If after a week of gametime I return to Lydia once more, will she still be carying the item upgrades I gave her? Or do they reset like any other chest ingame. If so, ill have to strip and upgrade every companion I leave and hire.

She's possibly in Dragonsreach. That's where she was for me. She'll probably be at a diner tables, the really long ones, possibly eating dinner. She was for me.

Lydia got "lost" from me last night and when I found her in Dragonsreach, she said that I already had someone with me (I had nobody with me) and would not join, btu she attacked me and chased me all over the city!! I finally did anothe quest with another guy where I joined The Companions. I guess maybe he was counted as "with me" since I had told him to meet me at the site.

Anyway, I wish I would have had a screen shot of Lydia once she finally rejoined me. We were recovering the helm(?) for the Greybeards and she had so many arrows stuck in her, she looked like a pin cushion. :chaos:
One of the baddies got a headshot on her and she had an arrow sticking out of her right eye socket, it was too funny to see her keep on fighting like it was merely a flesh wound.

Lydia,

Her life was lost in the depths of Labtrinthian. (Spelling) I could have loaded a previous save, but so far, I am marking my journey by my followers lost!
