LYDIA!

Post » Fri May 11, 2012 7:49 pm

So, I left Lydia in my quarters at the college only to find her gone some time later. Simply put, where is she? How can I track her?

She may be in Breezehome or Dragonsreach.

I noticed once when I wasn't paying attention that I told her to WAIT instead of FOLLOW (but she was already following me). So I thought I was telling her to follow me when infact she waited...

Had to go ALL the way back into Bleak Falls Barrow and find her...

WHY OH WHY is there no Companion Wheel in Skyrim? WHY?!

So, like the horse, she has a reset position on the map? I hope so.:)

I know where my Lydia is dead in the bottom of a dungeon. Is she supposed to be able to die?

Lack of control or the companin does seem to be lacking at times . I cant tell you how frustrated I get when her or the horse go charging after 3 Snow Trolls leaving me no choice but charge in after them head long to my death. lol :)
But I still like the game very much.

Yeah, she can die. I always went back to the last auto save to get her or the horse back. SAVE OFTEN!

Not sure if she can die. For me she just gets knocked down and surrenders. Then regens some health and gets back up. Maybe if she takes enough dmg she will die outright?

If she takes any dmg while being "knocked out" she will die, for sure.

Hmm... not sure. She seemed to be getting pretty beat up when she tried to take on both giants by herself...

They'll attack her till she's down on one knee then turn to you . She will get up again but with low health and if she gets hit just right she can die.

Oh, okay. So she can die, but she's just a straight up boss.

Yeah Lydia can die. If she gets beat down when down she will die. My character was deeply saddened by this and finally found some old battle axe nord woman to replace her, and she died too. What's funny is they both said "I have a bad feeling about this" right before the fight where they both died, like the engine knows when really tough fights are ahead. I could have loaded a save but I'm trying not to play that way and deal with whatever happens, makes the experience a little more life like.

I'm thinking of making a mod where you can maybe get one of the old grey beards to resurrect dead companions for like 5k.

In the strategy guide it says companions will die if you hit them while they have low health, but enemies wont kill them.

Just to clear up some stuff, companions will not die by monsters. They can only die when you are the one directly or indirectly causing the damage. I've seen Lydia knocked out 3 times in a row in the same fight and woe is me when I had to reload a game just coz she strafed right into my power attack :sadvaultboy:

I also realised companions can potentially be trapped in a dungeon with all your stuff and there is no way to get it back because they don't wait outside the dungeon or head back home eish

Check the link I posted above :P. It's a guide on how to retrieve companions that have vanished but not died.

Can you make any NPC a companion with that method, or only those meant to be companions?

Nope, that is just gonna help you retrieve an NPC that was actually your companion at one point or other.

I love Lydia. I find myself talking to her, then i realize it is a game, then i giggle, and continue talking to her... :blush2:
Oh Lydia, why u do that? Stop charging the wolves!! I'm on a horse, i need to get to the town!
Lydia, plz stop killing everything with your dwarven greatsword, can i just get 1 kill? Please?
....then i tell her to wait in town, while i go on a quest, and notice that the quest was scaled for me AND her and hence i cant handle the up-leveled enemies..

She's a badass <3
Can you marry her? How do you marry anyone btw?
