Main Character. Taking your time before any Main quest, fact

I know people who purposefully dont complete the quest lines because they dont want to get tired of playing it. but i personally enjoyed the MQ and i enjoy it more everytime i play it

As a RPer, I just can't bring myself to postpone the main quest. If my character decides to do something about the dragons, they're not going to say 'eh, I'll do it later'. They're going to act swiftly.

That said, when it comes to faction quests I feel comfortable taking my time, and often do so.

i do like not having dragons popping out randomly. although I accidentally finished bleak falls barrow ( i just really wnated those 25 lbs of carry weight back . stupid Dragonstone) I'm trying not to do the mainquest. as long as I only fasttravel into whiterun I'm golden.

As a quest item, the Dragonstone doesn't weigh anything, despite what the description says. ;)

Im just curious how many people waited or are waiting to do any main or large quest line?

My character is lvl 43, he hasnt done any main quest (only like an hour) hes barely joined the college. He will join the dawnguard (probably before main quest is finished) Ive done some deadric quests however. I wanted to wait till i get Chillrend at its strongest point (level 46) then start doing the big stuff at "max" level. Being a Frost artificer as it is, game is hard, but its fun this way. It seems silly that the savior of skyrim should have to work at joining factions, so it makes sense to do main quest last.

This is kinda bragging, but i wanted to see if anyone else feels the same way, or is playing the same way and enjoying it.

I am doing something kind of similar in that I am preparing for the new DLC got my Charecter to lvl 43 and just finished the cival war(for the empire) movein to the Companinons questline next( the love that wolf armor so I always get that as soon as possiable) working on makeing my weapons and armor really ba my Blades Sword(killed a guy at some inn to get it early) does 290 damage right now but I am working on getting potions up so I can make better encahnting potions so I can further make better smithing and alchemy enchantments tomake the ultimate armor, then I wil do the main quest) I am going for only good guy factions got tired of people calling the dragonborn an evil murderer/super theif( so wont be doing theifs guild or DB with this one myself. and will joing the Dawngaurd in their quest to kill all vampires.

I finished the MQ with my first character because a friend of mine (this was his first TES game and also his first RPG... so he was all about the MQ) told me about some of the rewards you get for finishing it (i.e. shouts and rapid level ups). I thought I'd go for them though that hasn't been customary for me with TES games. Usually, I don't complete the MQ until I'm about to retire the game... years later. Well, some of the rewards are very much worth it in my opinion. That said, now that I've done it, I probably won't do it again unless I decide I want the rewards for another one of my character builds.

First build was a Redguard fighter/paladin (who ended up completing the Dragonborn quest due to my friend's recommendation) that ended up joining the Empire and purging the Dark Brotherhood from Skyrim. He was a good guy.

Right now I'm playing a pure mage so, naturally, I'm working on the College of Winterhold questline. Since he's evil he'll probably embark on the cannibal questline and attempt to do all of the more sinister Daedra quests.

Next build will probably either be a Nord 2-handed specific fighter who joins the Companions and the Stormcloaks or a Dark Elf assassin who will join the Thieves Guild and the Dark Brotherhood.

I have done the civil war quests, but I hardly ever do the MQ. I don't like the idea of saving the world from a dragon. I like to be an evil assassin, not a hero.
I think of saveing the world(mostly the people in it) as a sad sad side affect of saveing myself whick my evil charecter quickly begins to rectify when ever he sees someone with the nerve to still live. except the children my guy maybe evil but he cant kill lil kids.

I've had the game since 11-11-11. I've hardly done anything. I just keep making new characters over and over (probably made 30 by now) and hardly touched the main quest. Haven't gotten a character past level 30 yet either.

You say that like it's an accomplishment. It really doesn't matter if it's the first thing you do or the last. It annoys me when people brag about not doing the main quest like their special. No one cares. You didn't do the main quest?!!! Whoop de doo! Want a cookie?
yes,yes i do,now where's my [censored] cookie??? lol
