Make Lord of the rings

I do not want Bethesda to ruin the lore and characters of the Lord of the Rings. Bioware would do a much better service to the fans.

If Bioware did a LotR game they would ruin the lore even more. You'd probably play through a loose adaptation of Frodo's quest, with the added "feature" of being able to bang every male/female member of the cast.

So you want a carbon clone of oblivion or skyrim and just replace it with LOTR area , monsters and other things. No

Somewhat ambivalent, but I think I'd rather see Bethesda's take on the idea rather than Peter Jackson's bloody awful mangling of it.

I don't know about that, besides every other dev that makes a LOTR game doesn't execute.

Most of the Lord of the Rings games that have come out have been pretty mediocre. I still liked the Battle of Middle Earth games though.

If Bioware did a LotR game they would ruin the lore even more. You'd probably play through a loose adaptation of Frodo's quest, with the added "feature" of being able to bang every male/female member of the cast.

I'm getting a bit exasperated with everyone assuming that the only thing Bioware puts in their games are six scenes. The two Bioware games I have played have had stronger stories, more interesting lore, deeper worlds, more realistic characters that you care about and the best dialogue I have ever experienced in any game and in most movies. I'm not saying Bioware is the best choice, I'm just saying they would do a much better job then Bethesda.

The Lord of the Rings Online is probably as close as you'll get to playing a TES typish Lord of the Rings. Until they finish that mod for Skyrim at least. But if you want it now, the MMO is the way to go. It's the best ME game out there.

I will at some point maybe give them a try.

Wasn't trying to shoot down LotR though, I respect the impact it has had on fantasy overall. I just prefer the way it's done by other sources. I even prefer Harry Potter to Lord of the Rings please don't shoot me :bolt:

I would, if I had a gun and knew where you lived :P. Such blasphemy!

This. Lord of the Rings would require characters that are at least vaguely interesting. Bethesda can make a sandbox, that's for sure. But interesting characters and dialogue. No... just no. If they were to make a time sink sandbox set in Middle Earth then it'd likely function. Why bother when they have The Elder Scrolls Series though? Oblivion was Middle Earth Lite. Sure I'd love for TES to have depth in it's characters, motivations and choices, dialogue that I pay attention to. That's not likely to happen any time soon though. That's why I play and enjoy Bioware's games.

I would prefer Star Wars personally. I have dreamed of a Bethesda reboot of Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight/Mysteries of the Sith since I was like 16. Can you imagine? A fully realized first-person Star Wars RPG made by Bethesda? With awesome story, exotic locations, huge array of force powers and lightsaber construction, the whole deal? Man that would be so awesome!
