Marcurio

Anyone wondering about J'Zargo's effectiveness should watch pms' guide. I linked to it at the pertinent point: http://www.youtube.com/watch?list=PL122FAEC715912527&feature=player_detailpage&v=RtJ65314eKw#t=121s

Ha, that was probably done on purpose. You know how when you first meet him he mentions mastering all the destruction spells? Good one Bethesda.

Marcurio is good.

He says good things and does'nt walk in front of your attacks.

Unfortunately for some time during my first tries and part of my first proper playthrough I confused him with Mercer Frey of the idiotic thieves guild. And avoided him.
I also thought The Real Barenziah was a boring old history series about a male mage, to a point, lol. Then I read it and realized it's got some serious wtfs in it, lol.
You should read the Daggerfall version.

About followers, do followers still not level with you on console? If not they seriously need to fix that.... The follows not equipping bows when they have higher qualty than iron arrows thing is annoying too. Even with these bugs I have still had fun with Jenassa. I gave her the NIghting Gale Bow and she looks epic shooting it. Too bad I have to open her inventory and remove arrows evertime she gets shot by an enemy arrow. She reverts back to the lame wooden bow.

OH this is about Marcurio?... Well I had him and Meeko at the same time in a Draugr tomb. Marcurio spams chain lightning and it hits Meeko enough to turn him hostile. It ends with a dog corpse flying across the room....

Well it's kind of useless to argue further so I just drop some links

That video was garbage. His philosophy seems to be "higher level = better."

This is the first and only post objectively countering my arguments with evidence. Kudos good Sir.
I never said I am god and you are all wrong, i just hate it when people say [censored] without providing any numbers or sources/evidence, while I myself try to post as much evidence on my hands as I could find.

In the end I wasn't wrong, he SHOULD be the most powerful mage by far numberwise (And the NUMBERS was which I anolyzed), but has some issues that no one could back up before before dookie.

I understand that by looking at his max numbers he seems awesome. I thought the same thing, until I ended up having to drag him through Mzulft because he was completely ineffective. Sometimes numbers don't tell the whole story. Eola is a prime example. On paper, she seems awful, but I have found her to be one of the most effective followers.

I used Marcurio extensively on my first playthru with a Nord warrior - which is sooo long ago now! It was a great combo in both combat and RP, but I think I took him to one too many ice cold dungeons.

If they were to make a movie of my first character and Marcurio, they would be played by Viggo Mortensen and Matthew Perry. They are sat in Breezehome (AKA xbox cloud storeage) right now awaiting DLC.

Marcurio is fantastic, I've had him ever since Lydia died quite early on. I've given him some staves and he alternates between using them and chain lightning. Stays out of the way for the most part (he did walk in front of one of my arrows once, which killed him instantly. I was very upset and had to reload  ). Then I married him.

Marcurio

I think he's a beast addition to a sneaky archer type. Good range on him. He can take a lot but i'd say buy the spell healing hands so you can hekp him out. He'll say ' is this some sort of healing spell?' lol

i hate how he says the mule line every trade, think of more dialogue..

Pffft, Eola could mop the floor with him any day.

Better check your facts next time. Eola's max level is 10 below Marcurio. Her max health is more than 100 points lower than his. Her max destruction is 21 points lower than his. Her restoration ability is 80 points lower than his. In fact all of her magical abilities are lower than his. Her magicka pool is more than 200 points less than his. The only meaningful stat, combat wise, that she has over him is 1h which wouldn't mean squat in this fight because her's is only 57. Marcurio is smart with spell use and typically uses high level lightning attacks against casters. No I'm afraid Marcurio would drop Eola before she had a chance to do much at all. I've used Marcurio all the way to level 47 and have seen him in action for many hours. He almost never goes to one knee, is smart with spells, moves smartly, and deals a lot of damage quickly.

Stats Sheet, check for yourself if you don't believe me - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aly8njaU3H1adGJYTlJaUnRxRUN2RnM5MkxPaU1mQkE#gid=0

I am loving Marcurio. He's been my follower since before I joined this forum (I only joined to ask a question about his dialogue) and in the last week I have counted 3 comments by him that I've never heard before. I have stayed away from checking him out in the CK because I love hearing new stuff from him. He must have a huge pool of idle comments he can make that are relevant to the kind of situation you are in.

Since I am a player who has always been critical of having followers he has turned out to be a great serendipitous choice because he has so much dialogue he actually can bring something to a RP.

The only problem I have with him is that sometimes I lose corpses because he blows them Gods know where.

Marcurio gets me into trouble. He fried several of my fellow Imperial Soldiers when we were trying to storm a fort, and they turned on him. He also fried Meeko when the dog jumped through his lightning bolt crossfire to get at a hostile wolf. I had to reload so Meeko didn't die. :( I was not happy.

My favorite followers are Jenassa and Erik the Slayer. Erik's such a sweetie. I'm gonna marry him on one of my characters, someday! Khjaro has my favorite line though, "Are you taking us someplace warm?" hehe, sorry Khjaro, this is Skyrim, you know!
