I fast traveled to riften and worked my way through the fort on the way to the mine, after a few minutes of running from three bears and wondering if lydia survived,i ended up right below the mine. then lydia caught up to me, needless to say, i was pretty surprised. then 6 wolves and two bears showed up and proceeded to show me how little the dragon armor helps. :wallbash:

Another thing to keep in mind- against all logic, ore veins respawn every 45 days.

It's not against logic...the lava beneath the crust pushes more to the surface.
