I would love to scream up and down and cheer, but I think it would be more appropriate to kneel down, light up a cig, give a smirk, and nod approvingly to myself as I talk to the voices in my ear.

Yeah, in the remake there were too many "WTF did he just do" moments. You know, the over exaggerated back flips and stuff that only Jason Statham would do in a Michael Bay film.

Some of that talk of "out-dated" gameplay systems scares me.

Pretty much...I love Metal Gear Solid and I love the Twin Snakes remake but if there's going to be another remake of MGS with a new graphics engine then I'm on board----I can never say no to a Metal Gear Game....other then Raising----I'm not much of a Raiden fan. Still I would love a remake of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake.

You can't change the gameplay without changing the game itself. MGS Twin Snakes brought MGS 2 first person shooting/aiming, which made it far too easy to get past security cameras in the original MGS level designs.

I will agree to this---with the FPS aiming in Twin Snakes it made some areas really easy to get past, equip the SOCOM with a suppressor and you'll rarely trigger full on alert mode. Still it was a fun game ^_^.

So what if it had a remake on Gamecube? I had a PS2 where the remake should have happened and I'm not going to buy a console just for one game.

It doesn't need another remake. Hell, it didn't need the first one. It was a fine enough game for its time. Can't we just...let it be?

There are too many Metal Gear games already and the series is rife with continuity problems as it is. It doesn't need to further muck things up by stirring the past titles even more.

What's your point? If I want to play MGS 3 or 4 I have to buy a console(s) just exlusively for them (PS2 & PS3).

Punished Snakes Japanese VA in MGS V said they'll have to remake MG1 and 2 due to all the new stuff in MGS V.

So get ready for at least 3 more games.

Seriously, they should just reboot the stupid thing already. Or better yet, make another series entirely, a spiritual successor if you will. It's getting ridiculous.

Heck, they probably should have done that when Metal Gear Solid was first released. Even when he's not being forced, Kojima himself just can't let go of the past.

LOL, Ironic considering that's the main theme of the game.

But MGS success is not just in the past, it's considered the most popular stealth series of all time.

If it's improved guard AI and them having the ability to call for support, I'm fine with that.

But changing the core stealth gameplay? Nonsense.

The core system shoud stay the same, but add elements from other games.

Which elements though?

Non-lethal options and stamina bars could work.

FP wouldn't without changing things significantly.
