mini map without having to pull up the pip boy

Was half asleep when I made that post, what I ment was the local map as you explore and learn the areas of the building it shows a top down view of every level with walls all over the place. I think it would be better if it would only show the level you are on so you can use it for navigation if youve been through the building and now trying to find a quick way out.

That was one of the things I hated about the local map is that it showed all levels of the building basically and it over laps. I use the local map alot inside buildings to get my bearings

Ahh ok I get it...so you would like the local map to be like oblivions where it only shows the level you are on.

Basically, thats the only map change I would support in game. The mini map doesnt make sense, when you bring up the pipboy map the game is paused so you can sit there and study the map for an hour without having to worry about being attacked. I just didnt like seeing all levels at once trying to figure out where im at in the building level wise or at the very least give us the option to select on the pipboy all levels or show just the level were on.

No; minimal HUD please.

However, I wouldn't mind a Pip-Boy 2000 map that constantly maps your immediate surroundings via sonar(?); I thought that was pretty cool, so long as I have to pull up the Pip-Boy to see it.

I don't think its a super bad idea
but in my opinion I think the compass is fine

To me the compass and the map on my pip-boy is all I need in Fallout

I agree - but doesn't sound like it's going to happen see thread http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1132727-bethesda-fix-the-local-map/page__p__16587947__fromsearch__1&#entry16587947
