Miraak and you are one and the same.

Post » Sun Feb 03, 2013 6:51 pm

I finally realised a few minutes ago, that you and Miraak are the same.

You are both Dovah, the last and first dragonborn and both of you inherently hunger for power.

Both of you where seduced by Mora for power.

Both of you gave into Mora's seduction and in the end, fell from grace.

Both of you are tragic figures.

Just out of curiousity, is it stated anywhere within Skyrim or Dragonborn that the character is the last dragonborn? Or is this assumed?

It is stated by an Akaviri prophecy in the MQ if I remember correctly, as well as by Miraak himself.

Early Skyrim release trailers and the grey beard agrenir only as "you're the only known one around"

also Disagree, you are both one and the same only because HM won in the end, HM always wins.

theres is no tragedy in hunger for power and agreeing to whatever some mean being offers. well, and it depends on you, you are power hungry or you are not but didnt see option to spit dragon soul, you simply absorb them.
it is assumed

There are simularities. I don't think much will come from the fall from grace though because the dlcs do not interact or overlap but after everything skyrim is done and new lore is written I'm curious to see what came of this

Thank you. I have not played Skyrim much, as I have always waited until the Game of the Year Edition is released to purchase games in the series.

I was not seduced by Hermaeus Mora, he just can't get over that I don't want to be his champion. Overly attached Hermy is overly attached.

I hope Bethesda makes the Dovahking canonically a tragic villian.

Well, Oblivion ended on a "Well, I guess I'm the Madgod now...Haskell...Bring me the tears of unspoiled orphans...Now, what was that next order of business...? Oh, right. CHEESE!" note, so...Who can saaayyyyyy.

Still got fingers crossed for a capstone DLC to put 'er to bed.

Traditionally, the Player Character of the previous game is referred to very vaguely, with only the absolutes mentioned, if at all. So don't hold your breath.

The Prisoner: I think this guy actually made it into Canon. Not sure though.
The Blades Agent: ...Sheogorath mentions King Lysandus's ghost and that was the last Daggerfall Reference I remember seeing.
Nerevarine: Oblivion and Dragonborn reference the Nerevarine as going to Akavir on an expedition, and that he was behind the defeat of Dagoth Ur.
The Champion of Cyrodil: It's is heavily insinuated that the Sheogorath you meet in Skyrim is the Champion of Cyrodil, now fully mantling and in the full swing of the Madgod. And cheese.

It would be interesting I must say, one hears all to much the hunger for power Dovakiin possess and the insatiable desire to dominate, if I were to be anyone's (censa) I'd want to be Molag bals (censa) would be inline with Vivec, HELL with all the statements of the Princes says how powerful Dovakiin let me go a step further and make Molag bal my (censa).

We know COC become lord Sheo and is implied to be a member of the thieves guild and DB.

Implied is implied. It's meant to be obscure and just tangible enough that our brains create links between our respective game experiences in the series.

I would be satisfied with a mention in TES6: Electric Boogalloo, that simply states "The Last Dragonborn appeared and vanquished mighty Alduin." and maybe a "The Last Dragonborn settled the civil unrest in Skyrim between the Natives and the Empire...Huh, amazing what one man can accomplish, isn't it?"

Furthermore, I like to think I'm secure in my characters's legacies. I mean, I lived those adventures, I know what happened. I make up what happens to them myself. And I'm rather happy with that.

It is hinted. We do not know that as a fact. They did this on purpose so if your character didn't do those missions, it isn't impossible to say your character didnt.

Well, only an idiot didn't play Shivering Isles, but that's personal bias on my part.

Nah.. you still have the option to resist Mora. I really think there has to be at least one more DLC to wrap up the Dovahkiin though.. things are even MORE vague than before.

That isn't what I meant, I meant the TG and DB. For instance, I avoid these missions for rp reasons, so Beth purposefully makes the info on our heros obscure so everyone's character fits in the lore. I've done them before, but only on characters that would actually do them.

Well naturally, that can either be taken as reference or just silly madgod talk. Players choice.

Indeed it is, much in the same way that my belief that Shivering Isles was a colossal waste of time and an extremely overrated DLC, is in fact, just personal bias.
