Is Morrowind Destroyed during Skyrim?

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 12:02 am

I refuse to believe the Telvanni were crushed, in my opinion they probably all had their recall spells set somewhere far away and right before doom arrived they all teleported to safety. The Telvanni shall live on in all of my Dunmer characters.

According to the Crisis in Morrowind many Dunmers fled to Solstheim... by now the island probably has major citys and is more civilized.

I have see one NPC in Skyrim with the last name Hlaalu, are there any other descendents of the great houses roaming around the game?

Yes, there's even a quest that involves the Telvanni in a minor capacity - but I won't say more since anything else would delve into spoiler territory.

Nice. Seeing the familiar name gave me a huge feeling of nostalgia. I must hunt down this quest for my battlemage.

I remember asking some Dunmer in Windhelm if they've thought about moving to Morrowind, and they didn't seem to think it was a completely insane suggestion or ask what rock I'd been living under for the past 200 years imply that I should pay more attention to major events, so parts of Morrowind have probably been rebuilt to some extent.

Same with Stormcloaks =D

I heard the conspiracy that this was done to prevent people from asking for another game in Morrowind, but it has made it two times more interesting if you ask me =D

When you really think about it's like Morrowind was this great legendary province and now it's gone... All the lore, the Gods, the temples, the great people... it's all destroyed.

I hope there's an expansion that can go more in depth to this :(

Yea, really.
Morrowind, for me, is the best country I've visited in the TES series.

Everyone hates the Dunmer, including the writers. Which is a shame as they are one of the few historically good as in not genocidal and/or oppressive or cannibalistic races.

Red Mountain blew up before 4E 20, and according to The Great War, by 4E 168 it had "never fully recovered," but since the Argonians apparently didn't make an attempt to colonize it, it's just an empty wasteland right now. Hopefully it will become hospitable again over time.

I bet the cliffracers, like roaches, survived.

That is such a shame about Morrowind and it means that Bethesda plans to never return there. :(

There's a lovely diary that describes how they were nearly wiped out by the volcanic eruptions when the argonians invaded and finished them off.

This thread has reminded me what it was that I liked so much about Morrowind.

It sounds like there should be way more Dunmer in Skyrim. I mean, if a bunch of them left for Solstheim, doesn't it seem likely a bunch of those guys would wind up in Skyrim? In fact, the shanty towns outside some of the cities should probably be filled with Dunmer (unless something has happened down in Elsweyr, as well). I might need to catch up on my history before progressing further in any quests.
