Anyone else think that you can produce a Na'avi from Avatar if you crossbreed a Dunmer with a Khajiit?

When two different races mate the child looks like the mother and has most of her traits, while only retaining some of the fathers.

But if you were to mix up their appearances, it would look a little like the Na'avi, no?

Blue skin, elven features, yet feline characteristics like tails and fangs. Just some food for thought.

I love and prefer more fey like creature elves, alien and strange looking. The first time I saw the Skyrim elves on the character select screenshots I loved them.
But I must say, after trying to make one in game, their side profiles really have a lot of wonky stuff going on that I can't stand, it's hard to put my finger on.

That'd require ~1000 years of semi-closed breeding, as with the bretons. So, the answer is no. Also, dunmer are not blue, they're gray. The only time they were actually blue was Oblivion, with females only being a offcolored blue in MW. And even then, it's dubious whether khajiit and mer/men can even produce offspring, along with argonians.

I hate the appearance of the elves due to the ridiculous jawlines. They are completely sunken in, like Count Orlak from Nosferatu.

It is impossible to give them any kind of jawlines, even with the jaw width set to max.

They all end up looking like a traditional alien ( E.T. phone home ).

I hate the elves in Oblivion's appearances far worse.

I just expected allot more in Skyrim.

The Nords look incredible, though.

The only thing I'd like for beth to tweak is to make the bretons look more...merish. They still seem too indistinguishable from Imperials.
I have to agree with you Hellmouth, they should look slightly more merish, they should have a slight similarity to their mer counterparts, and they do resemble the Imperials way way to much.

In saying that I love the mers appearance in this game the only thing that could have used some attention was the chin, but if you take time with your character you can make an amazing looking mer. They should have more options on chin shape tho because no matter what you do the chin always has that sharp pronounced look to it, you should be able to have that if you want it but how about if you do not like it, other than that minor complaint all of the races look stunning.

The elves look absolutely HORRIBLE and I hate them. Absolute garbage. All the races look bad in character creation except for the Argonians, Kahjit, and female nords. I don't understand why in the world anyone would want to have ugly, hideous, goblin-like elves in elder scrolls. In every other book, movie, and game elves have ranged from decent looking to beautiful. They tend to be attractive looking. I think your artistic standards are very low or you're just a big fan of elder scrolls if you think Bethesda did a good job on their elves. And by the way, the previous elder scroll games had really awful graphics and artwork. I'll never buy them for that reason.

You forgot to say we're evil and should die because some of us like the way the elves look.
Bethesda, and any other game company for that matter is under no obligation to make their elves look like other books, movies, or your own private drawings. You don't like them, play as something else. Or don't play. Or write your own RPG called 'No ugly people need apply: The Beautiful Elf game.' Whatever. Just tone it down a notch.

I wouldn't mind the Dunmer face as much if I could get the wrinkles out, the old hag looking face with the stretched narrow chin and the Klingon eye sockets would be all right if I could get the wrinkles out...... I don't want to look older then dirt maybe. Yeah Red Mountain erupted, it doesn't mean a volcanic boulder hit every Dunmer in the face and smashed it in. If you want to look ugly by all means, doesn't mean the rest of us necessarily want to. I don't want to look like a LoTR elf but I also don't want to look like a Mule and a Space Aliens off-spring either. Character creation should have had a lot more to it then just here use this arch-type and go from there with only basic mods open to you, I use 360 so I'm stuck with it.

P.S. My Nord takes huge steaming dumps all over Mer cause he's a boss like that.

I think they went a bit too much with the chins and klingon brows, personally.

At least the dark elves aren't flamboyant dough-faced smurfs anymore. And the main dark elf actor sounds actually husky, instead of hoarse like in Morrowind.

I've always liked the way Bethesda has envisioned "other" races.
With elves they don't really follow the standard LOTR template, which is really refreshing. They make them look alien and otherwordly, with oddly shaped features and strange colouring.
I think they've done a great job - but then Niamh is a Bosmer, so I am biased!! :D

I agree that the elves look like dog crap (without mods)

However, I strongly disagree with the part about all other races besides argonians, khajiit, and female Nords looking bad.

I put a ton of hard work into my male Nord, and these images are the result.

Credit goes to death-knowz for taking the screens for me.

Did you make Roze Macath to look like a predator? Add a predator mouth in there, and i would not know the difference. Good job!

Im just glad The elves dont look like oddly coloured humans with pointy ears

I wouldn't mind the Dunmer face as much if I could get the wrinkles out....

Have you adjusted the complexion bar? I think I put mine most if not all the way to the left to lose Dunmer wrinkles. Whenever I've created Dunmer I've not had a problem making them look non-wrinkly and making the chin shorter and fatter is easier - lowering where the mouth is placed also makes the chin appear smaller, as does giving them slightly fatter lips. Also a bit of facial hair helps disguise any residual ugliness and can make them look a bit meaner. Course that may be a problem if you're playing a female......

Overall I love the look of the characters, especially the Orcs. Beth did a pretty good job on the whole thing, and if you're on PC and still not happy there're a lot of mods for aesthetics. My favourite character was my one-eyed, battle-scarred, wrinkly old ex-paladin Breton.
