Nano catalyst amount randomly disappears and resets.

I'm using the retail version of the game. I'll update my specs in the original post too.

Specs: Intel Core i7 860 (No OC), Radeon HD 5850 (Catalyst 11.2), 16 GB Ram, Windows 7 Home Premium x64

It is going into Negative. Google "Crysis 2 Negative Nano". I've had this issue since launch. It's a huge pain being that what ever nano you do collect becomes a double loss this way. To top it off, you can not collect nano on a second run through once you've cleared single player. So if you don't collect every upgrade in one sitting, you're S.O.L..

FFS, horrible launch, horrible support, and BS communication. Great job. This s**t encourages pirating.

I can honestly say I'm not very impressed either.

That's some awesome work right there. Have been fine for 2 sessions, but just now I loaded my SP game and the catalyst is at 0 and doesn't increase on pickup. Also, for the first time it has forgotten my MP key as well.

Nanocatalyst clouds should either be autoharvested after killing an alien (so you don't miss out) or they should spawn in a way that I don't have to do small hops because they are 1 inch above the ground and the game somehow doesn't pick them up otherwise.

Looks like Crytek really dropped the ball on this release. I though the problems were only about Multiplayer, but I had this problem, too. It's very annoying, since it cuts on the fun you're supposed to get from the game. At the age that I am, I already have VERY limited time to play games, and when I do, I do not want ANY hassles, but just to have fun with a game that just works as intended, period!

Now, how is Crytek planning to give us our nanocrystals that we lost, back?

I've also experienced this issue - started for me after killing the first heavy I encountered just before entereing the hive, though I think I got the 500 points from him. I exited the game to watch some F1 today and returned to find I wasn't collecting anymore despite the on screen indications and my meele button was also borked into the bargain.
I'm sure Crytek have noted this issue so I'll put my faith in a patch when it arrives.

I'll bump this thread with a question.
Is there a working trainer out yet? Not that I want to cheat, but it might be a way of getting my lost NC back...

Same exact problem.
I stopped playing for this bug, combined with the melee lock one and weapong switch one.
Please Crytek, we supported you, now you gotta support us. ;-)

Well..... I found a way to get the nano back. IF you can even call it that. Listen to this huge waste of time.

Step 1. Play till your nano is back in the positive. (if you do not know what I mean, I explain it a second time further on.)

Step 2. Load up the save where you lost your nano. ( Campaign > Load > Find the correct save) When you reload the old save your nano will be back to normal. (Just remember you are running through all your progress with the negative nano once more.)

Step 3. Have fun and Play, for all is good in nano land. (till you quit game.)

A few notes:

I wouldn't quit the game with a S**T load of nano saved. The bug DOES flip whatever nano you have into a negative number. So until you break even with that "number" you will not see a gain. Once you're in the positive again, it corrects itself.

Doing it this way, you CAN replay missions and retain the nano from the previous run. So in essence you can replay the same mission 5 times and just sponge it up if that's youre sort of thing.

On Post-Human difficulty you'll unlock them all way before reaching the final levels.

It is ridiculous I had to even go though all this just to accomplish something so trivial. I deserve a f**ken medal EA...... EA screwed up Crytek the way Activision f**ked Blizzard.

I just lost 5000 nano points. I reached a checkpoint with 5020 then quit the game. I restarted the game from the saved checkpoint and I had only had 20 nano points......not good.

I agree. I had about 5000 nano's (and this is after keeping my computer on for 3 days, letting it sleep inclusively) since i had about 4000 one time, lost it, (it definitely went to -4000; meaning, it certainly goes to it's negative value). However, even though i've bought all the modules, it's still frustrating to think that if i close the game now, i'll lose about 11000 nano's i've had fun earning, soo, i've had my computer on for about 4 days straight, with a freakin' fan close to my laptop's fan and a cooler under it X.X. heck, my poor laptop t.t. this game is still running on it and it's taking up 1.3 GB t.t. but you know what? heck! (closes crysis 2) THAT'S FOR YOU CRYTEK! I have mocks right now, and a girlfriend who loves me to talk to :(. Hmph :(

It also happens if you jump around in your campaign or replay a level.
I had the same, i had to load back 1 save and go through the area again and then only use the resume from there on.

Crytek has said that there should be a patch this week. No idea if it will solve this bug, but I sure hope so. I have also quit playing the game until it gets fixed.

Just play the last level and you'll get tons of NC. buy all your mods and voila, everything is unlocked and you don't need NC anymore. If you're not at the final level, well you don't really need your suit upgrades anyway. Game's not that challenging if you take your time!
