Nekkid in the Snow

Post » Mon Jun 18, 2012 12:56 pm

I love Skyrim's art style. I love the brutal, rugged landscape. I love the snow, the mountains, the Northern Lights... All of it. Except for the light armor...

This isn't really a complaint. It doesn't affect gameplay at all, and the game is still great, but I hope in the next DLC. they have more armor with pants... Especially for the races other than the Nords. Wouldn't the bitter cold be killing 'em all? So please Bethesda, in the next DLC, add pants. Maybe add some sort of invasion by the Empire. Then you'd have a great excuse to bring in some armor from Cyrodiil like the ones in Oblivion. Chainmail and the like.

Thanks.

Chainmail bikinis are a requirement for all fantasy games regardless of climate.

On a kinda unrelated subject, I'm kinda dissapointed that all the clothes are uni-six. I was gonna put on a dress and kill a dragon... JUST BECAUSE! XD

I'm sure there will be some interesting mods that will fix this. Including the one where you can remove clothing you couldn't before lol.

They're barbarians, they're used to it.

All of them.

But seriously, I've always wondered what the deal is with the total disregard for the temperature and/or weather regarding clothing options. My gf and I were talking about how if someone went swimming in iceberg-filled waters, hopped out after a while, and continued to jog around a snowy wasteland IRL, that person would be dead. Very dead. And possibly frozen solid. And while the notion of someone climbing about in chainmail bikinis, regardless of gender, if fun, ultimately, it's a little unbelievable. I was thinking that something a little like hardcoe mode for Fallout: New Vegas would suit Skyrim well, sans radiation. Sub out the rad effects with temperature related issues and voila! You've got something a little more in line with reality.

I'm totally with you. It's one of the reasons I've been playing as a Nord.

Has anyone found a naked Nord, by the way? After Morrowind, I was hoping to see one in Oblivion and it seems appropriate to have at least one in Skyrim..

maybe everyone is born with a natural immunity to cold water or immunity to hypothermia, just as believable as all city guards taking an arrow to the knee

I don't know if they were Nords, but they were certainly naked. 3 naked people enjoying the hot springs near Darkwater Crossing.

That has to be one of the funnest things I've seen in the game. It's totally what some folks who had found a critter-free hot springs (or, seeing as how they're hunters, made a hot springs critter-free), and after a long day of hunting, shed their clothes and relaxed in said hot springs. It's just too bad you can't do anything to join them except take off your clothes/armor and crouch down in waist-deep water like you're pretending you're siting down in it, and totally not a creeper.

Hopefully, once the toolkit comes out, someone will mod a few invisible chairs under the surface of the springs next to the hunters' spots.

Sadly, I am yet another console player. :'-( Believe me, if I could scraqe together enough money to put together a badass gaming rig, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Until then, I'll have to cross my fingers for some quality DLC.

I had a naked courier chase me down, but I don't know whether he was a Nord or not.
