New found love for Alchemy.

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 4:53 am

So I just currently got into alchemy. For some reason during all my hundreds and hundreds of TES hours, I JUST got into it. I was in my new found Alchemy lab. (Anises Cabin) And I hadn't realized I had spent almost an hour just creating potions and poisons. So, what are some of your favorite poisons and potions? I'm playing a tribal assassin so poisons are big for me.

WOW, way to ruin the challenge one hundred percent.

On topic, I love alchemy, ill have to take a look at my ingredient list and let you know some combinations, but one of my favorites is poison of slow, it does 50 percent movement speed, 180 poison damage, and magika regen is 100 stopped for 120 seconds. Yep. Amazing.

Alchemy is amazing, its 4 skills in one, maybe more. Combine that with enchanting, just wow, the possibilities are endless.

I love alchemy as well, mainly because I love collecting and hoarding and the money is sweet from making potions. The weight vs value of ingredients is fantastic, just have to enjoy wandering around and picking flowers and such. It also gives me excuses to visit certain dungeons and stuff for ingredients.

As far as I know you cannot, but you can make restore stamina potions...unfortunately you wouldn't be able to name it skooma

Damn, I was hoping to create my own Skooma and peddle it on the side.

Ugh, me too. I have a few bottles of skooma in my house, but theres no pipe like it was in morrowind (so I can't "chase the dragon" in my skooma den) and its not even illegal so it lost all of its uniqueness and appeal to me.

There is sleeping tree sap which doesn't seem illegal but has the drunken effects and is rare to find.

I thought Skooma was still illegal? Im sure its frowned upon.

They say it is but there is no consequences like there was in morrowind. You can have it on you and sell and speak with people in skyrim so it might as well be as legal as mead is.

If you want a challenge try harvesting hawk beaks and feathers for your alchemical collection. You need to be really, really good with your bow aim!

Catching the little fish in the streams is fun as well ... as long as you don't get caught in a river current and tossed over a waterfall.

My go to potions.
My oh ^$%$ poison: Lingering damage health & paralyze. Canis root, imp stoll, and one of the other lingering damage health ingredients.
Damage health & slow. For situations where I need some extra hitting power but I don't need the overkill. Deathbell and River betty.
Damage health & ravage health. I can't remember the ingredients, but what is not to like?

My favorite in Oblivion was still more fun.
Wraith Kiss: Damage health, damage magicka, frost damage, paralyze, silence.
Spoiler
Really svcked in the fight where you had to fight yourself. Laying on the ground incapable of doing anything but dying really svcks. I knew how my enemies felt.

And killing hawks.... use lightning spells, instant hit makes it really easy.
