I wouldn't call it hype. Hype is advertisemant and buzzwords that they initiate with audiences unaware of the product. This was an interview they were asked to do. Yeah it's good advertisemant but majorly the number of people aware of the interviews are pretty low. Only the people scrutinizing the game very closely see it, and therefore not hype.
I caution everyone to hold back scrutiny based on past experiences. What past mmo's have done or are currently doing shouldn't be held against this game. At the same time I wouldn't say it's irrelevant either. We know what an abysmal failure this game could be, based on our past experiences. But they've yet to make those mistakes as of yet. If they can be consistent and clear with their intention and design choices then they can keep alot of customers happy. I am sure they will stumble, and go back on promises here and there do to development concerns and setbacks. But until we catch them in a lie we can't assume everything they say is a lie. Whether you can take their words at face value though is a choice of the individual.
