10.11 new Nvidia Beta Drivers released

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 3:02 am

The Driver is a beta: 285.79, and it's definitely there. You can use dannythefools link, or the nvidia site. One thing that I think is causing trouble is that the site svcks: it forces you back to a Recommended/Certfiied driver even after you click on the Beta Driver button. It took me 3 tries to verify and be able to actually see the beta driver in the list.

Anyway, thanks for the info Razzle & danny!

i didnt have that problem at all..

FYI I searched specifically for 560 Ti beta drivers, did not find this one either. Just sayin'.

EDIT: My card may not be supported for this new driver. I did a search for 590 beta drivers and found it.

I found the new beta driver for 32-bit systems as well. Great. Will download when I get home.

The issues that happen in rage will have no chance of happening for Skyrim

Rage = OpenGL

Skyrim = Direct X

This beta driver is not needed at all to play Skyrim I would highly suggest for everyone not to use such unless your using it for other reasons or already an avid tester

I figured out everyone who goes to Nvidia drivers section notices there is a separate option for beta driver search. :biggrin: I think it`s a smart move to download it before trying Skyrim because the previous driver doesn`t have a profile for Skyrim and the beta does, I`m not an expert myself on what do these things mean but why wouldn`t you grab it I mean it doesn`t cost u a think lol.

So I googled SLI to find out what it is.
And since I only have one graphics card, does that mean this beta update is unnecessary for me?

If it's a beta version I think I will wait for the finished version to be released, shouldn't be too long anyway

Thats what i was thinking as well

An hour ago I also got a pop up from Catalyst Control Centre that a new version was out. I downloaded and installed it, just to be sure.

The beta is essential for me as I use SLi. That is the difference between playing at medium and maxed out.

I can now confirm that there is a beta released 11/10/11. It's 285.79 beta.

Only this game doesn't require SLI to run maxed out so the difference is moot.

This isn't Battlefield 3.

The profiles are only for SLI (more than one graphics card) and 3D vision (if you have a 120 Hz monitor and shutter glasses).

Because it is a beta driver which basically means you are a guinea pig for Nvidia until the finished version is released. There is no telling what issues you may incure with it so best leave it for now, imo

It won't be essential to play Skyrim anyway

Runs perfectly fine without the SLI beta profile (GTX460 SLI on ultra 1920x1080 all maxed out). In case others were wondering.
