Hopefully that means there won't be a repeat of RAGE's problems for the PC crowd.

I can't find them. What are their release numbers? The last beta driver I see was from September/2011.

That would be a disaster, here's hoping.

Anyone heard any news of a Catalyst driver being released for Skyrim?

I'm only seeing the GeForce 285.62 Driver WHQL.

Is there somewhere specific I should look? And yes I am looking at the section with all of the drivers listed including beta.

Edit: Nvm, I found it.

Why would it be a repeat of RAGE's problems? This isnt a broken experimental megatexture engine (thank god) xD

It's a beta driver, you have to use the advanced search to find them. Link: http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7-winvista-64bit-285.79-beta-driver.html

Edit: You probably only need this if you are planning to run Skyrim either on an SLI system, or with 3D vision.

Great news, although on Nvidia's site I can only find the 285.62 drivers which I have already got installed, when today are they supposed to be released?

Edit: just seen Dannythefools's post.... not as foolish as me it seems

this. I'm going to call BS on the OP. Earlier someone told me the SLI profile was already released (yesterday). I think these guys are just pulling it out of their hats.

I seriously doubt it. Skyrim and RAGE are both videogames, and that is where their engine similarities end.

So is it essential to download this beta driver? I mean, if it's beta, does that mean I can use that, even though it isn't finished? And it won't have any conflicts?

If it's a beta version I think I will wait for the finished version to be released, shouldn't be too long anyway

There's really a new beta driver, and it has Skyrim profile.
There's also a 3D profile, with Skyrim being rated Excelent.
It's true.

Thanks OP.

The beta is essential for me as I use SLi. That is the difference between playing at medium and maxed out.

I can now confirm that there is a beta released 11/10/11. It's 285.79 beta.

What shenanigans? Someone posted a link to the beta driver.

Also playing on a SLI system (GTX460's). I'll wait to see how others react on the beta profile, not too fond of those.

The Driver is a beta: 285.79, and it's definitely there. You can use dannythefools link, or the nvidia site. One thing that I think is causing trouble is that the site svcks: it forces you back to a Recommended/Certfiied driver even after you click on the Beta Driver button. It took me 3 tries to verify and be able to actually see the beta driver in the list.

Anyway, thanks for the info Razzle & danny!

I get it now. It's only for SLI-people and that's not me so I can still cry.

Change the language in the search to English UK, then it shows up. Or use the link posted previously.
