New shouts for the next DLC? or...update?

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 4:37 pm

if you love shouts share your thoughts i have a few such as:

A ward type shout to protect you from spells and dragon fire and frost (for those who are'nt mages)

A freeze time type of shout instead of slowing it down

A shout to calm people (since their is only shouts for creatures and animals)

to be able to change your shouts like fire breath into an actual dragons breath as well as frost

A shout to paralyze or stop an enemy in its place (for those who are'nt mages and i know theirs Ice form but once you attack them they are released from that shout)

but yea these are just some thoughts what do think

An invisibility "whisper" would be nice for stealthy types.

Yes.

Also if you have played Divinity 2, I think if you have dragon blood. You should beable to turn into a type of dragon... You doon't have tto fly, just some type dragon trannsfformationn kind of likke Weerewolves.

My thoughts? I don't like these ideas. Sorry :/.

But yeah, the more shouts the merrier. And they will no doubt be implemented in DLC.

A door/chest unlocking shout would be nice. The Greybeards clearly know one, so why can't we learn it?

How about a shout that allows me to "clone" myself? You know, like what the Greybeards use.

Freeze time shout would be possible if like the Phyjic Order it freezes everyone around you but not the one person you aimed it at. So while attacking a fort you could shout it at a Bandit chief so it would just be you and him fighting after a set amount of time it would resume everyone else like: Word 1 stops time for 20 seconds, word 2 for 40 and word 3 for 60 or something like that.
Other shouts I would like would be Shock, great vs mages. And a shout which makes you Regen Health, Magica or stamina 6x faster, on a scale of 2x more for each word.

No, most shouts were done WRONG in this game. Shouts need to have unique effects, not copy and pasted effects from Magic. Magic needs an overhaul entirely, and Shouts need to be UNIQUE. Whirlwind Sprint, Fus Ro Dah, Slow Time, and Elemental Fury....shouts like these, with unique effects, are the way to go.

Shouts that simply do x elemental damage and Calm enemies and make you Invisible or Paralyze enemies are just....silly. You're just taking existing effects from magic and making them shouts, I'd rather they continue putting out unique effects.

I share similar feelings for some of the Standing Stones....The Shadow, for example. Invisibility for 30 seconds once per day is just a joke.

I would like to have a shout that makes people heads blow up or their ears bleed.

A shout that makes a projectile shield in front of you for a small while. Shout, and a ward-like effect appears that stops arrows, spells, shouts, poison darts, all of it.

A shout that is cast at a location like a Rune spell, and if someone steps over it, stone spikes could spear inwards towards them.

Some kind of shout to silence mages.

A shout that can break wards and disarm shields?

A Telekinesis shout. First word pulls them in, second helps raise them to control, and final word throws them around like a ragdoll.

A shout that lets you use Dragon Souls as powerful projectiles, or to summon a spirit of a dragon. I have over 150 souls absorbed, I don't think i'll need that many to unlock words.

A shout to reanimate all nearby dead bodies to fight for a while for you.

A shout to cloak the whole area you are in, in darkness This would extinguish torches and dim lights already existing. Used outside would darken the sun for a short while.

A spell absorbing shout.

And finally, a teleportation shout. You shout while looking at a point, and you move there through a black portal engulfing you.

A teleport kind of like Whirlwind sprint but it is instant and you can choose the direction that you move. I am remembering the Assassin magic ability from Fable 1 if anyone else remembers it. You couldnt really defeat Twin Blades without it

Each shout needs to have its own timer instead of how it currently is with all shouts using the one timer. the fact that i cant use Fire breath while i have elemental fury up is terrible, let alone that using storm call prevents using any shouts for 7 minutes unless you fast travel or wait.

Same applies to race abillites (like battle cry0 they should have just let it out personly, I barely use them and when I do it useless. Hopefully its better in next Elder Scrolls.

As soon as they reverse the cooldown scaling (as in have it decrease as you grow in strength... kinda like how getting better at something is actually supposed to work) or at LEAST let you use multiple shouts, then I've got a whole slew of ideas for shouts. But as it stands... most of them remain and shall forever be, useless. Potions and magic are far and away more useful, efficient, powerful, reliable, and much less annoying than shouts are at the moment.

I would like a "Dummy Shout"
Makes a few duplicates that don't attack or anything but can draw opponents to them...

A teleportation shout would be nice, or like and emergency escape shout...Like you are really deep in a dungeon and the shout takes you to entrance..

I just want them to add a sprinting jump...

Yelling at people to make them calm? That would be... interesting.

As for new shouts that I'd like to see... hmm...

I'd really want something that can't be duplicated by current in-game magic, like a super-jump or the ability to phase through walls, or something else completely crazy.

1. a shout that causes NPCs/Animals to sleep.
2. a shout that throws all your attackers into the air like a Fus Doh Rah only like a energy bubble.
3. a artifact that allows you to convert magic spells into shouts.

i like the idea of a shout that makes heads explode...better yet, like fallouts bloody mess perk, they just explode...like what ulfric apparently did to the high king. as for raising dead shout, soul tear already does that to a degree.

what about mixing words together??

For example: (yol ro koor) fire balance summer. would make an storm with meteors pounding on nirn.
: (liz krah shul) temporary blocks the sun, and let there be an unearthly cold shine .

What about that?

Yes! I loved they in fallout, and it actually makes "sense" in this game. Causes a bullet or laser can't do that lol.

We should have a shout which let's us jump real high or long if we're sprinting. we could than of course kill our selves by accidentally jumping off a clif, but that will be awesome non the less :)

THIS. I agree 100% on this. Dragon Shouts are supposed to be completely unique compared to what Mages are capable of. The ones he mentioned are indeed unique are unmatched by a spell one can just learn from a tome they find or buy, and we need more shouts like this. Infact, an idea I have for a unique shout would be this - a Shout that lets you project yourself from your physical body, allowing you to scout ahead and 'release the shout'/press the shout/power button again to end the effect and start the cooldown. First word allows you project and travel while your body is completely vulnerable, second word allows you interact with the world around you (ex. pulling levers, opening doors, entering and leaving buildings, anything except loot, talk with NPCs, enter combat/fight, stuff like that) in addition to being unseen in spirit form, while the final word allows you to possess a creature or humanoid (anything that isn't a ghost/spirit, Dragon, or Dwemer Machine really Corporeal undead like Draugr would be available to possess though.) and use their body for awhile until you release or they die under your control. Then if they die, you automatically return to your body and the cooldown start, or if you release, you can continue to wander around. It's a completely original idea that hasn't been implemented yet, something that not a single spell has ever done or been close to doing, and I think would make for a very fun, interesting Dragon Shout to learn.

And I also agree on the Magic overhaul idea, fixing some spells, adding more spells, old and new might I add, and even fix some of the Standing Stones. .....Not the Ritual though, Ritual Stone's fine with me.
