Why did they think showing only finishing moves is representive for combat?
Are they really that ashamed of the melee combat?

no. even realistic melee combat isn't fancy looking.

TESIV and V melee combat is still a lot better than those mash and slash (Kingdom Hearts) rpgs and better than command and watch (Dragon Quest) rpgs.

I'd love it if it was actually console footage. That would gasp the PC gamers slating of consoles 24/7. ^^ Fun fun.

I've seen the comparisons in studio, one of my thoughts when I saw it was (this must be what the Xbox 720 will look like). It was enough to bring a tear to my eye.

It was only on high though. I never had a chance to see Ultra as the PR guy obviously wouldn't let me adjust settings on their demo comp.

Still.. If 6 year dated consoles can match high settings thats an achievement. But i do think the 'ultra' settings is what will separate the two. Just wish people would stop slating consoles...

Not high, console across the room matched about low/medium settings. High was too much of a difference. But that's what I saw. Performance is different too. They really pushed out the consoles ability and it looks better than any other game ive seen on the console. It's compareable with the detail of the best on consoles atm.

Fair play. I'm obviously missing out on PC gaming then as I thought the E3 demo looked fantastic and that of BF3 graphics on the xbox as well. As long as the graphics are of high standard (for console terms) and the gameplay is the same if not better then oblivion then Ill be happy.

Yeah, it's a different art form from BF3 (bought for 360 also) but I'd say at level of detail, they are comparable. That's saying something when Skyrim actually has depth, story and gameplay that's worth your $60.

I totally agree but my fault is i pride my games to much on the graphics. ^^. One more thing (more pointed to DarkIntellect, when you have a hands on preview was there screen tear? My TV is 1080p Sony Bravia 32inch and on BF3 i suffered from noticeable screen tear in confined spaces.

Yes, as with any 720p upconverted to a 1080i signal, it's native resolution is going to be skewed slightly at the filler lines (edges). I didn't really notice it on the 360 version but I was only on it for 5 minutes. :confused:
