I suspect he's died a long time ago, and the people in control just spread the rumor that he froze himself and is in control in order to prevent panic or revolt.

Is that why he's voice acted by Rene Auberjonois?

Indeed. :P

Perhaps he will shape-shift in the final scene and we'll realize that the Founders were there all along. ;)

i hated vault tec. i still dont understand why they would choose to run a social experiment during nuclesr war. did they think that the information they found would be of any use after america was turned to [censored] dust.

i also hate having to know that the awesome "vaultboy" is the mascot of an evil company

well their a corporation. since when do cooperations care about you or me *Nudge* BP, all banks and insurance companies *Nudge* (this is why deregulation of banks and other corporations is a bad idea)

Anyway ranting aside. I think the reason for the experiments was so that when the control vaults opened and the inhabitants set up shop, they could study the results of the experiments and then be able to adapt to their surroundings better.

I personally was quite surprised when the President in Fo3 turned out to be a computer - I thought it was a very neat touch that lent itself to great story development. One would not have suspected it very easily before seeing it for the first time, and in that case the surprise was Good.

But thats just it, they did that with President Eden, and they did it with Professor Calvert. If they pull another 'LOLOLOLOL SURPRISE HE'S A COMPUTER' plot twist, I'll go on a nerdpage. It's been done twice in one game, to do it again in the very next game would just lack creativity, but given Obsidians rep for story, I won't believe it's that simple.

Calvert was a brain floating in a chamber that kept him alive, so technically the 'LOLOLOLOL SURPRISE HE'S A COMPUTER' was only used once in FO3.

I like Erebos post above me but i was kinda hoping he was a compulsive gambler with the bigger the stakes the better and who knows mabye youll have something worth betting Vegas for.

Side note: Mabye house's body couldnt become unfrozen because he stayed in the tube (or whatever) too long and now hes just a head in a jar on a robot and thats why no one ever sees him anymore

Or maybe he went bald like Mr. Bigglesworth!

I imagine less people cared about that particular surprise... I know I was fairly indifferent about it.

Agreed but it was done. There was to be more to the Shi in Fallout 2. Fallout 3 has the computer suprise so that alone is reason not to do it.

Mr.House is Pre-war, he's alot like Howard Hughes. He used Cryogenics to freeze himself before the war. Fallout has a history with Cryo and I am not talking Mothership Zeta. He's voiced by René Auberjonois.

If he was a computer or a ghoul I would be very unhappy. Why does everything need a twist? To me it becomes a joke after awhile like M night Shyamalan "What a twist!"

Lol the last man in cryo melted into goo, in Fallout 2 I mean. Lets hope Mr. House is a better cro scientist xD

And ehhhh, I don't want another computer twist anytime soon. I won't like a ghoul twist, but it's better than another self-aware ZAX. But it's a legitimate Pre-War non-ghoul like they claim him to be, I will be very happy :vaultboy:
