Over here in the Netherlands the game is sold in stores almost everywhere. Mine was shipped yesterday and should be arriving today or tomorrow.
Can't say I really mind personally (who would?) but I can understand how annoying it must be for others plus it's also not really cool most retailers don't seem to care about release dates at all for any game. I've heard people saying that the confusion is because of all the other releases Tuesday but I don't think that's an excuse; trailers and such have been showing 11-11-11 for ages!
I would think that it's becoming more difficult to compete with the likes of digital retailers like Steam, Impulse etc, so they are almost forced to start selling it early to anybody still willing to buy brick and mortar.
I used to be hardcoe brick and mortar customer, and over the period of about 3 or 6 months I slowly switched over to digital purchases after finally realizing just how convenient it was for me, now I don't shop in brick and mortar shops for games unless the only place to get a title is in the B&M retail shop.
Yes, I can see why some real world shops would want to sell their copies early, just to ensure they got them sold.
Obviously the stupidist thing about this whole launch, is them choosing 11-11-11, especially when we know that the shops already have the game sitting in the back room, it's all just for show it would appear and seems rather pointless.
