When I killed
Spoiler
the old orc
I dragged him over to a small island in the lake near Riverwood, layed a few mountain flowers around him, and placed his Iron Axe near his heart. I then set him on fire, and slept beside his resting place until morning. When i awoke, his body had vanised. Oo0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0ohh :o

When lose a follower i leave coins on their eyes and a purple mountain flower on their centre, rest in piece good friend. :sadvaultboy:

How do people lose followers? Seriously I'm over 150 hours on my main account and none of my followers have ever died unless I directly kill them myself. If that happens I just restart the last save point.

I just don't understand when people say 'Lydia was owned by an Elder Dragon' etc. HOW?? She never dies!!

When I did the Thalmor Embassy quest with my Breton battlemage/dungeon crawler, Roderic Kingfield (Rod for short), after killing the Thalmor agents in the courtyard I hid their bodies in the bushes.

Got cold chills now, you'll be haunted for all time! :)

I always run from Bandits because my character is not a warrior or a fighter. She only really leaves her home to gather more ingridents for alchemy or to go for a long walk around town. I admire you treating your foes well but a bandit is still a bandit, I don't know if I would have been able to do the same!

The only people I don't believe deserve a proper burial is the thalmor, they arrest people for their beliefs and sometimes put out an execution order for you. They can be left to the slaughter fish for all I care!

One time while traveling from Fort Greymoor to Rorikstead I met a single bandit that tried to rob me. She was a strong Nord woman wielding a powerful greatsword and her skill with it was impeccable. After our first few battles which I must say I stood no chance I came to realize this was going to take some real skill and quick reflexes to take her out. I ended up beating her with a paralyze potion but then thought na she deserves better than that so after a reload I took another shot at it. The next battle was one for the ages where I used no potions or shouts just pure sword wielding and dodging. It was tough but this battle ended with me barely getting the last hit in while being only one hit away from certain death. After the battle as I was checking her inventory to see what I could loot I decided that her death was an honorable one and she deserved better than that of the common rabble. So I picked her up, took her behind a boulder off the side of the road, said a prayer to Talos and left a blue mountain flower at her final resting place. After this battle I now have a new found respect for strong Nord women wielding greatswords and now when confronted with one I make sure to give them a great death, respect their corpses by not looting them and leaving a blue flower on their bodies.

This is awesome! I also never loot enemies I find to be worthy of my respect, but I've never actually buried one. I might take that up.

Out of respect for the old Nordic ways I never loot Draugr or Burial Urns. We all need our prized possessions when we pass to Sovngarde.

When I get attacked by the three hired thugs (We're here to teach you a lesson) after I kill them I strip them completely and pile their bodies up. Fun times.

I haven't played a Nord yet, so my characters have little to no respect for their burial sites. Loot it all, I say. But they can keep their crappy weapons. Perhaps one day I'll play a Nord, but I have never made a Nord in any TES game.

Hehehe. If I can't throw them off a cliff or into water, I'll do this too. If there's a fire pit nearby, I stack them on the fire.

Have you played on Master? My dude (that magic user you can find in the pub in Riften) died fighting a charus. It was all my fault because I thought, "meh, he has him". When I realized he was struggling and killed it, it was too late. He took two steps and dropped dead (presumably he was poisoned). I was sad because he'd been on many journeys with me and was a very complimentary follower since I was a pure fighter.

Was her name Matilda?

I've always liked Nords, being one myself =). I haven't even considered playing anything else in Skyrim. It's such a perfect setting and I take so much joy in roleplaying a Nord on the greatest adventure ever in his own lands. I can just apply a whole different level of immersion with that, like the respect for the dead etc.

I love this sentimental stuff. You're an honorable guy for that, mate.

I have an Indiana-Jones type character I'm playing through right now--I usually make her jump and dodge for fun and take out things with the coolest-looking bows and the most impractical light armor I can find. She also tends to put all the bodies in a straight line.

My thief builds just hide the bodies.

I am shocked no one has mentioned resurrection! Why waste bodies when they can kill their friends for your own amusemant? :P

I had a burial ritual of sorts in Oblivion for one of my characters, who became a knight of the White Stallion lodge but his stalwart companion Mazoga died on the last quest to become knights. I dragged her body down to the nearby guardian stone and laid her out with arms crossed and put a two handed sword on her briast. Since her burial site was just up hill of the White Stallion lodge that I was using as my base, I would visit her grave and pay respects when ever I stayed at the Lodge. I would also bring the best weapons and armor I could find on my journeys as an offering. You could put them on the body and she would equip them (even in death), so I honored her memory that way. I would also leave a collection of weaponry placed carefully around her body. Wild animals would kick the weapons around so constant gravetending got to be quite a distraction with that character.
