What rating would you give the game?

How big does the game feel (land mass)?

There are a few questions that are on the edge of being spoilers in this thread already.

Just remember, don't ask for or give spoilers in this forum. We have a Spoilers section for that. That is where spoilers belong. I don't think anyone wants a week off of the boards for posting spoilers in the General Section.

Carry on discussing the general impressions of the game.
It's very very easy to get carried away :P. Thank for not locking it. [bowdown]

Why does this topic exist? I'd be playing the :flamethrower: out of this game if I had it early. Your willpower is phenomenal, level up!

Still trying to get the most important question through, hard with all the ppl :P

How about game depth.. books, politics.. to keep it short: lore.?

I answered that question in the last thread (number 1)

Any texture resolution problems? Did you install it on the HDD or playing it on the disc?

3.8 gigs. Everyone knows this

I think its a fair bit bigger than that, 3.8 GB is tiny... Halo 3: ODST was like 3.2/5/8 (not 100% sure) and that was only an expansion, Oblivion was around 6.;8 for install if I remember will have to look at my console HDD though

When you install the game on PC, I read there's something about Steam and an 8 gigabyte download! Is that true?

Are we going to have to sit for days waiting for some "Steam"?

How long did it take to get the Steam junk done and back off the net and playing the game?

If so, they should switch from coal and steam to all electric trains for delivery. (this line was a joke.)

Nevermind. I see you have the non-PC type.

Does anybody know how long it will take?

The download itself from Steam took me around 45 minutes to an hour. Not long at all. This is of course with a 2.5-3.0 mbps connection with the Steam servers. Btw, people have been preloading it for a few days now (or maybe it was yesterday? too much skooma).

Not sure what you mean by "Steam junk" though.

Pretty sure Skyrim has a universal release through Steam. I wanna say 00:00 EST, someone can correct me, haven't looked at the countdown in awhile.

Thank you. 45 minutes is a long time when you're sitting there with your shiney new game staring you in the face.

Thanks again!

Two questions

1 - What do you think of the cities, are they bigger than Oblivion's cities?

2- Can you mark a location on a map with your own notes?

OP, thanks so much for your had work confirming the texture issue with HDD Install.

One last follow-up question: It has been reported that if you clear your hard-drive cache after installation (which will delete the 1.1 patch), then download the patch, then launch from the hard-drive that the hand and weapon textures will then be hi-res even if launching from the HDD. If you have an opportunity after your break to test this, the Skyrim 360 community would be most appreciative.

Probably best, although this thread could be moved to the Spoilers Section if you are concerned. Then you can answer as you like.

I will run a main Q&a on the site mentioned in the first post. Then I will when i have a long list of info post it here (maybe in the spoiler department)
but I will have to go over all the posts later on, that require some work. so please give me some time, ask questions here or in the main forums. It might turn into a large info list. (spoiler free of course)

Sorry if I got the wrong idea, but you seem to be under the impression that you can uninstall steam once Skyrim is installed. You can't though, Steam has to be permanently on your computer, without it you can't play Skyrim. It's not so bad if you go into the settings and prevent it from starting with windows.

Off topic, I know, sorry
