The texture issue stemmed only from installation to the hard drive, so there was at least a work-around for that bug. But with the magic issue that has arisen, Bethesda, like someone said earlier, are in damage control mode, because this literally released hours ago. A good point someone else stated, was now the IGNs, G4's, Gamespots, of the gaming world are ready to jump on Bethesda and get their publicity ratings up, all at the same time, Skyrim's sales taking a blow. I think Bethesda right now are calling in staff, temps, whoever, to help break down their patch and figure out what exactly is causing these issues. I believe there is a way to have Microsoft not have to approve/certify an update if it is under a certain size MB wise, I believe.
Actually that's what everyone (including Bethesda) was saying but if you read some forum topics about the issue you would find that playing from the disk didn't solve the texture problem at all. I thought that topic had been beaten to death. There wasn't a work around for the texture problem as many of has stated countless times. The only thing that saved Bethesda last time is almost every major gaming website just took Bethesda on their word, like many others, and believed the game was fine when played from the disk. It was not. Some people had no problems, while others had problems despite what they tried in an effort to fix
I encourage you to read some of the texture problem threads on the forum and you will quickly see it had nothing to do with playing from the disk or not. It astounds me people still claim that playing from the disk solved all problems.
